Does anyone know why Demoted to Extra was removed? I can see the edit where it was deleted, but no reason was given. Would anyone object if I reinstated it (unless there was a reason for its removal, of course)?

I'm out. It's clear that we're not going to agree on how the Muppets acted in this movie. You guys see them as saints, I personally saw them as Unintentionally Unsympathetic jerks. It's clear that we're not going to agree, so I'm not going to even try editing this page anymore. You win. I'm out.

We're not saying the Muppets were saints. We're just trying to trim and downplay some of the harsher entries on here.

Plus, there is a difference between foolish and being unsympathetic.

And the What the Hell, Hero?, My God, What Have I Done?, and An Aesop entries indicate the Muppets (save for Kermit, Walter, and Animal) coming off as stupid or unsympathetic may not have actually been unintentional.

I think the Muppets behavior with Kermit in this movie comes across as more Innocently Insensitve than outright Jerkass

Fozzie might count as Innocently Insensitive because of how much of an idiot he was, but the others, I'm not sure. If nothing else, Gonzo's "Actually, Kermit, I was asking DOMINIC about my Indoor Running of the Bulls" comment was intentionally mean.

I'm sorry, but I didn't see the Muppets as "eccentricity flawed characters going through a major learning experience" as you put it. If the was the intention, they came across more as "unbelievably unsympathetic Jerkasses who screw Kermit over and get away with it".

Intentionally mean or just thoughtless? I’m pretty sure there’s a difference.

Well, they’re better people overall than Constantine. That’s for sure. Just as they’re supposed to be.

If they had really screwed Kermit over and gotten away with it, they would’ve let Kermit get arrested alone at the end. But they didn’t, and I’m pretty sure you know why.
