So, if you look at the original cast cameos, they are fairly diametric to the roles they had in the original movies. Is there a Trope for that? Or is it just Fridge Brilliance.

The cameos are mentioned twice in the page at the moment, under Mythology Gag and Remake Cameo, with the exact same wording in both cases. Which one should be kept?

I vote the examples be cut. It's abundantly clear that neither opinion matters and any suggestions, trope-wise, is going to fall on deaf ears.

I've seen plenty of opinion-neutral examples show up for the main page, so I'm not sure I quite follow.

Yes, the YMMV and Trivia pages are locked, but there's a process for getting examples through. Cutting all examples would be like burning down a house to solve a minor ant problem.

There needs to be an addition of "In Memoriam" to the Trivia page: the 2016 movie was dedicated to Harold Ramis, who died in 2014. He had a bronze bust in Columbia University in the movie, but in the 80's movies he was Egon Spengler. (Impressionist Maurice La Marche played Egon in "The Real Ghostbusters," doing a take on Ramis as he believed he couldn't do Egon without it.)

Since this is a locked page now, you should put this suggestion on the sticky thread for locked pages listed in Locked Pages.

Is it safe to review or even discuss this movie? Serious question, I mean by this point whatever the movie's actual merits end up being, I'm still horrified by the flame war this thing's attracted.

(Editing out last part, trying to keep things civil)

That honestly doesn't sound like a review of the movie, just adding more drama on top of drama.

That wasn't meant to be a review, I was just expressing how the all the hate thrown around over the movie has gotten ridiculous. I do apologize though I shouldn't have said anything. I guess I answered my own question.
