Can someone please provide the source of the lyrics in the main page's image description?
Hide / Show RepliesThey come from the audio adaptation as the main theme for Reharmonized.
Can someone please tell me where exactly in the story it was said that Zecora "bucked" a would be assassin of Fluttershy during the Gaia Festival? (It was said to have been in 7 Dreams/Nightmares storyline, but I'm can't find anything.)

Why was my review deleted? If you're going to do it, can you at least do me the common courtesy of telling me why?
Hide / Show RepliesThe one of these comments?. It did contain personal attacks against the author, for one thing. Not worthwhile to have around.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou know, there are so many tropes for this fic that the way the TV Tropes page is right now, it's just too cluttered. So I have a suggestion.
I think we should split it up into separate pages, one for each arc. We can take tropes that apply to the series in general and put them on the main page, but everything else goes on a page for its specific arc. I think that would greatly reduce the amount of clutter here. Do any of you feel the same way?
Hide / Show RepliesEh, I prefer the normal alphabetic ordering by far.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOkay, should we start removing spoilers from season 1 stuff like Silver being the Sixth Ranger for the Crusaders and Trixie's status as the mane six's Sixth Ranger? Loneliness makes since to keep in spoilers, since her EXISTENCE starts with a Jump Scare, but what about some others?
Since I'm not totally familiar with the pantheon, does any of them qualify for Above Good and Evil given their parts in creation?
Lord Eric Wu, Grandmaster of the order of Troping. Hide / Show RepliesThe draconequi probably do. They've got Blue-and-Orange Morality for the most part, and while they have all the messy jobs (Strife has to cull the weak, Anarchy wrecks organized societies, Pandora brings hallucinations, Destruction literally lives to break things, and now we have Rancor who is literally violence itself), they don't hate ponies or do it because they take malicious pleasure in what they do. Havoc is very similar, with how He approves of the survival instinct that His terror causes.
Entropy and Discord might view themselves as this, but they're probably not that much above it. Entropy's dabbled a bit in doing things that are deliberately malicious (like giving The Young Pegasus that Concept-Killing Spear to use on Cupid, and giving Celestia the Windigos when She -knew- it would blow up in Celestia's face) and Discord is practically maliciousness incarnate.
Edited by OracleSevenI think it would be a good idea to start splitting the main page into alphabetical folders at least.
Would you recommended and/or approve of a Tropes page for fan-fics based on the Pony POV Series? For example, my Pony POV spin-offs starring my traumatised character, Neo Stream?
Hide / Show RepliesAre there ebook versions of the full series, or just the Reharmonized Ponies stories?
Does anyone know where I can find the Princess Gaia pony POV arc?

I wander the worlds, ever seeking new knowledgeI want to apologize for my mini-meltdown on the Tearjerker page. While I do not agree with the revision of Pearl Necklace Part 4 and see it as both cruel and unnecessary, I admit that I overdramatized Celestia's actions.
I'm sorry for it, but I am not sorry for disliking the new version.
Shamelessly plugging my comics, Oh yes.Let me begin by saying that I am a huge fan of this series and consider it at least one of the best Friendship is Magic fic series.
But, will someone PLEASE help me out on this?
I was thoroughly enjoying the darker take on the events of the season two premiere and what Discord did to all the ponies during his short reign. The author is incredibly gifted and imaginative about what he does and has managed to make me eagerly anticipate every new chapter with ever more enthusiasm. Then comes the Princess Gaia arc; it was dark, it was scary, it was perhaps the crowning achievement of the series thus far and made a believable Big Bad out of friggin FLUTTERSHY! I was so emotionally torn while I read it, while being so utterly horrified at what was happening around the Mane 6; I wanted, desperately to see how this would and and what the consequences would be from it.
...what I got was the most BLATANT example of Easily Forgiven I have ever seen; bordering on Karma Houdini if not for Luna's epic rant at her.
What I saw during the build up to the battle with Nightmare Whisper was utterly terrifying to me, with almost every action well within High Octane Nightmare Fuel for me (and this is someone who read Cupcakes without flinching!); but other than Luna's anger, Fluttershy receives no consequences. Instead, it is by and large treated as a GOOD thing that she more or less mind-raped ponies, turned them into foals and tried to basically remake the world into something so unnatural that it almost made me physically ill reading it.
Explain to me, HOW IN THE HELL IS THIS A GOOD THING?!
Hide / Show RepliesIt gave them a day without their worries and pain, which let them rethink their life quite significantly. It's easier to realize what you're better off without after spending a day without it. And it was made clear that as a longterm plan, it would be bad, but one day in paradice let everypony rethink their lives for the better. Pretty much, it was like relaxing and thinking your life out for a day with no worries at all.
And remember, Fluttershy doesn't forgive herself fully, neither does Fluttercruel. She's clearly still sorry for her actions. The main thing Celestia was thinking was enhance the good she did so she's not demonized for the bad. Yes, Fluttershy did a horrible thing, but making her a social pariah isn't going to do her any good because she already became The Atoner because of it, and can never do it again, and has no desire to do so. The point was to amplify the good she did so she's not crippled from doing good.
And, I don't know if you've read the revised ending, it's clear not everypony loves her, somepony nailed her in the head with a rock at the speech. It's clear she's not forgiven by everypony, just the ones that were better off due to her actions and Celestia realizes turning her into an object of scorn wasn't the right thing to do, as she's done something she'll never forgive herself for and truly can and wants to do good.
I hope that clears things up a bit.
Also, the author added new parts to Pearl Necklace part 4 at the end. Taken with Princess Luna's punishment, the new semi-mind-rape (without 'Cruel's help this time) is further punishment if you need that little extra "justice".
I wander the worlds, ever seeking new knowledge- Moral Dissonance: The entire premise of the series is that the Mane Six, and indeed all of Equestria, are struggling to come to terms with what Discord's Mind Rape said about each of them. But when Luna mind rapes Fluttershy and Fluttercruel far, far more worse than anything than Discord ever did to them, she considers it fitting punishment, as do the Flutters. However, the Mane Cast gives her a mass Death Glare and Princess Celestia apologizes for her (not knowing what she did, but knowing she did something to make Fluttercruel terrified of her), implying Luna is merely acting on outdated morals from 1000 years ago.
I got to call this out. I don't believe that by any means what Luna did could be called "Mind Rape". That trope is meant to involve typical elements of rape, such as invasion of privacy, forcing someone into something they don't want part of, and usually controlling their minds or making them relieve their hardest memories. Now, while I know Luna was harsh on Fluttershy, it was mostly a Hannibal Lecture and "Reason You Suck" Speech combined, plus an added headache, all which may be arguable justified due to what Fluttershy did. But my point is that what Luna did should not count by any means as Mind Rape.
Why isn't there a Tear Jerker or a High Octane Nightmare Fuel page for this yet?
Why do people like this series so much?
