I feel that we aren't using the Nerf trope properly. I mean there are examples that are used well by clearly stating what wasn't used. But then there are examples like this:
"99.999% of Bayonetta's strength & speed was taken away, her witch time was severely nerfed, & multiple useful abilities were ignored like switching dimensions & steering enemies into the sun after hitting them".
I'm not sure exactly what to make of this because the entry does bring up a good point like Bayonetta's ability to switch dimensions. Most of it, however, is done poorly. How was her Witch Time nerfed? Just because she slows down time more consistently doesn't make it more powerful than Dante's Quicksilver. Steering enemies into the sun was done with Jeanne's help and not by Bayonetta herself. The "99.999%" of her strength and speed loss just screams bias especially considering that the episode does make a point that Bayonetta is far stronger than Dante. This is coming from a guy who believes Bayonetta should've won that fight.
Of course that's just the most recent example. "Tifa was radically weakened and stripped of most of her moves". Elaborate. Most of the entries actually seem to do a good job at explaining how they were nerfed but these two entries just scream bias and do not properly explain how these characters were nerfed even though I believe that they were.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. Quite honestly, people who know these characters should actually fix and make sure these statements aren't too exaggerated.
I think we should give this show's Pre-Mortem One-Liners it's own page. That entry is getting really lengthy.
