What's with the bolding of show titles?

Looking at the history suggests that it was originally to show which shows were still airing on the channel before it was separated into folders and no-one changed it

There doesn't seem to be a mention of the abandonment of the male audience. Only thing still going for males (for the most part) is supernatural. Doesn't help that the new person in charge used to run Lifetime, and has said she wants The CW to be something like Lifetime for teenage girls.
