Is there anyone out there who doesn't overreact on Shylaman's movies?! Damn, his movies aren't that bad. In my opinion, Lady in the Water, Signs, Sixth Sense and Last Airbender(YES, I LIKED IT! SUE ME IF YOU WANT!) are some of the best movies ever! "Oh, it isn't like the cartoon! Buahh!", "Oh, he made an important character in his own movie?! And all the other cameos he ever made, were just simple ones?! HE'S A MARY SUE!"! I mean, were people ACTUALLY EXPECTING it to be just like the cartoon! GROW UP! When you make a film of a cartoon, anime or game, you have to cut characters and change events! He didn't have enough money or time! You CAN'T Make it perfect, so why bother complaining on it?! Sincerely, comparing him to Uwe Boll is a bit too much! Just because you don't like his movies, you don't need to reduce him to Uwe Boll status!

It's just that I don't get it! His movies ain't that bad for people to compare him to Uwe Boll.
I'll agree The Last Airbender isn't the worst thing to mankind, and that The Village and Lady In The Water had some bright spots, and ya' know what The Happening is hilarious.
However they all fail horribly at logic after Unbreakable, live off of Dull Surprise acting, and the characters aremore like plot devices if they are lucky. If it's The Last Airbender we're speaking of the characters are just there
And no it isn't unreasonable to expect an adaptation to be mostly faithful in spirit,it's not unreasonable to want characters that had depth and quirks to retain them,it's not unreasonable to want the adaptations original story to be well explained to everyone. But no M. Night clearly thinks he's too good for any of that
Just like Uwe Boll or Seltzerberg.
And just like Uwe Boll's films,no one remembers how to act.
This page should delete the "viewers are morons" entry .Now I am not a Shyamalan fan[I barely made it through the opening narration of "After Earth" and I am too much of a fan of avatar:the last airbender to watch his movie objectively ] but he never once said nor implied that his audience are dumbasses. He just said that critics do not like his style of filmmaking [understatement of the century]and that he is not going to change it that is all.
