Has anyone noticed that the wall in The Butter Battle Book could have been based on the Berlin Wall?

I noticed a reference to a character called "the Red Under the Bed" that, according to the Nightmare Fuel page, "was scrapped for being too scary". However, I can't find any source aside from TV Tropes referencing this character. I bring this up because I am wondering this character ever actually existed or if it is a hoax.

I haven't found any reference either. I suspect it's hearsay. Might as well remove it.

Pronounced like voice? Really? Every teacher, student and reader this troper has ever heard has pronounced Seuss like "goose on the loose."

They're pronouncing it wrong, it truly is pronounced 'zoise', but, you know, a little late to fix that now.
