Was their some sort of retcon regarding the second Steel that I'm unaware of? Because I read the issue where he was injured and he was left little more than a brain-dead thing on life support repeating a single word over and over again until in a later issue his father turned off his life-support to let him finally die. I seem to remember that at worst Despero simply destroyed his corpse rather than actually killing him.
