Hmm I'm thinking of moving the mini-series parts to their own recap pages (Well at least for Bad Guys, Tangle and Whisper seem to already have one of it's own) and just linking them in the main description. Yay or nay on that?
- Cerebus Syndrome: The series was originally being billed as a Lighter and Softer Continuity Reboot that kept the same writing staff from the Darker and Edgier Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog but set out to have a tone closer to the SEGA video games. And yet, the Metal Virus saga is arguably even darker than the darkest of the older comic's darkest story arcs, as it's basically a slightly less gory Zombie Apocalypse story played completely straight. The reason for this, the writers eventually admitted, is that the storyline was plotted out as a possible highly dramatic endpoint for the Archie comics and the staff kept the story and moved some characters around to extricate Sally, Antoine, Bunny, Rotor, and Snively for the storyline so they'd be replaced with both game centric characters and new cast members like Whisper and Tangle. This resulted in a high degree of Mood Whiplash as the storyline that was plotted to FINISH decades of continuity for another comic ended up being only the new comic's second arc.
Is it just me or is this exaggerated? I read through the Metal Virus arcs and it wasn't that dark.

Hide / Show RepliesCompared to previous stories, both Archie and IDW, this one is definitely one of the darker ones. I do think that the whole part about how it was planned for Archie Sonic's finale should be removed. That's trivia.
"darker than the darkest of the older comic's darkest story arcs"?
I don't remember anything worse than echidnas being hanged. Also, Tangle & Whisper could be darker for having an explicitly knife-wielding murderer as the villain.

Hide / Show RepliesWell, no one is stoping You from doing it. Just place few examples, put it in a proper index pages and then wait for some Wiki Magic.
I'm thinking of changing the image with the cover from issue 16. Yay or nay on that front?
Edited by CASCHero Hide / Show RepliesI presume you're talking about cover B, with all the characters, right?
It's kinda similar to the on at the Archie Sonic page, don't you think?
Eh how? The Archie one is just Sonic landing on the ground in the rain (The start of the rebooted universe if I remember correctly)
Oh right, it was changed after the reboot. Hmm, I don't know, I personally like the current image - clear and to the point.
If this page needs a stinger, I suggest "He also had a shorter lived run with Fleetway Comics" with a link to Sonic the Comic (and possibly STCO).
There seems to be quite a bit of overlap between the Continuity Nod and Mythology Gag sections of this page. From my understanding, Continuity Nods are usually for like
Since the canon of the comic is pretty fast and loose (even to Flip-Flop of God levels regarding its canonicity to the games but it uses the games as a backstory and backdrop) should these sections be cleaned up so that continuity nods are events explicitly referenced by the characters or things that happened in game canon while the Mythology Gags are things that are extraneous canon material (ie. Archie, Sonic X, Sonic SATAM, etc.)? Or should continuity nods be things that the characters have referenced so far in the past issues of the comic while everything that is a nod to the games and etc. be under Mythology Gag?
Also I'm not sure if the Call-Back on the main page is actually a call-back, but that's a separate matter for another time.
