There's a belated "Changed w/o Discussion" thread now running in Image Pickin', as the page image has been changed twice without the usual consensus.

None of the tropers involved in the changes are still active on the site, as far as I can see.

I reckon the current image is the best so far, and I'm personally very happy to keep it, but please drop by the thread and comment/vote (or suggest a new and better image) if you have an opinion.

Given that Shang-Chi’s got almost 50 years of comic book history, it feels as if we should be taking the same approach as other comic pages for long-running characters:

  • Create a single page for tropes related to Shang-Chi’s comic stories as a whole, including guest appearances and team books, as well as any tropes that aren’t specific to a particular solo title
  • Create additional pages for particular solo books that warrant them - e.g. Shang-Chi (2020)
  • List (and, if appropriate wikilink) the different books on the overall Shang-Chi page

...but if we go down that route, it probably makes sense to keep Shang-Chi as the overall page and put the 2021 series-specific stuff on Shang-Chi (2021) (which is currently a redirect).

Any thoughts on this?

There are versions of the games, Marvel Future Fight underwent a reboot, when he first appeared in 2015 (possibly the first version of Shang-Chi in a video game), he had the power to create copies of himself and his father's name was not was mentioned, when the movie was released, I get a movie-inspired adventure with Katy, Wenwu, and movie-inspired scenes.

So…

We now have the comics (including a few short-lived tales in alternate continuities, such as Secret Wars and the Ultimate version Shang-Chi.

We have the film.

We have a couple of Disney books, and appearances as a playable character in multiple computer games.

Are we getting to the point where justifies a Franchise page?

No, we just have two mediums as far as I know, Comic Book/ and Film/.

Ok - let's see whether we get any more books or game appearances, then revisit if we do.
