It counts as "Forcible Penetration with a Foreign Object",which under a lot of laws counts as rape
Oh, interesting! That said, rape or not, I don't see the double-standard — there was no implication that Taylor being female and Rory being male made what she did to him any less wrong, and it was in fact presented as more wrong than Taylor doing the same to Rebecca "Alexandria" Costa-Brown.
Under the vaguest and most technical sense, maybe. But the only "penetration" that happened was an assault through the nostrils and throat. There was no anal penetration; she simply sent bugs to sting and bite in the groin and anal regions. This is explicit, because when Taylor is pulling all of the bugs out of Triumph she specifies that that they're coming out of the throat and nostrils, not any other orifices.
Pulled:
- Hypocrite: A very pronounced character trait. She repeatedly states that she hates bullies, yet defaults to pain and intimidation as her go-to solution. Likewise, she thinks others should cut her more slack because she has good reasons for everything she does, but is very unwilling to listen to similar arguments from her opponents.
...because the Hypocrite trope page specifically defines it as one who "only pretends to believe what he preaches".
Hide / Show Replies...I'm fairly certain that the definition on the trope page fails to encompass the entire meaning of the word, because Taylor is definitely a hypocrite.
If she's a hypocrite, she's a hypocrite — that's not the same as being a Hypocrite, any more than an engaging conversation is necessarily an Engaging Conversation.
She is a hypocrite. She beleives that people shouldn't be bullied, yet bullies. She hates how the heroes dont treat her fairly about her actions, yet doesnt do the same for their actions.
Laconic of Hypocrite:Claiming a belief while not practicing in it.
Edited by 24.70.79.136Paragraph 2 of the description on the wiki page:
Not all who fail to live up to these standards are hypocrites. Some people may fervently and honestly believe what they say is right and good but they lack the moral strength or willpower to consistently live up to their own high standards. These aren't hypocrites (although they can risk becoming so). A hypocrite, by definition, only pretends to believe what he preaches, although the more self-aware among them may occasionally acknowledge (and/or attempt to justify) their situation with a Hypocrisy Nod.
Edit: Taylor isn't pretending to believe anything — she's suffering from a bad case of I Did What I Had to Do.
Edited by 74.96.70.179Okay, seriously. She actually calls herself a hypocrite in a recent chapter, there's no reason why we can't include the trope just because tvtropes has a narrower definition.
I do think a Hypocrisy Nod is warranted, seeing as how she does blatantly admit she's a hypocrite in 29.2.
Edited by 24.70.79.136@erraticegomania: Look, if you want to argue that the trope should be broader, then this is the wrong discussion page to be making that argument. But the trope as it stands doesn't fit.
@AxelxGabriel: If it counts with the nod purely in the narration? Yes, Hypocrisy Nod would fit for Chapter 29.2.
Chopped the following to pieces:
- Super-Intelligence - Awesomeness by Analysis: By far the most intelligent of the Undersiders, barring Tattletale perhaps. It has been pointed out by readers that Skitter can't be smart enough or coordinated enough to pull off most of the incredible insect choreography she has. The fan theory is that with each insect under her command, her total intelligence increases slightly to pick up the slack, which likely accounts for her incredible tactical and strategic brilliance.
As I said in the edit reason, Awesomeness by Analysis should be listed separately if it applies to Taylor, and the swarm-computing hypothesis is fanon that has been contradicted by Word of God, not to mention poorly-supported by the text.
I'm trying to figure out what we ought to do about Bitch's dogs.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. Hide / Show Replieslump them all as 'minions of the undersiders', listing all of them in the blurb and putting tropes for the whole group?
Before I add it: would it be fair to say that Aisha was a Secret Chaser circa Tangle 6.3?
Edit: Never mind — given that her brother told her he had powers, it's probably not a very good fit.
Edited by RobinZimm Hide / Show RepliesIt seems pretty fair.
EDIT: On second thought, never mind.

Should Double Standard Rape: Female on Male be under Taylor's list? Because what she did to Triumph would technically count as rape.
