This page would be a lot easier to read if the characters were sorted into categories. Not sure which would be best to do, though. Main/secondary/recurring or based on location, like NVR staff, Night Vale citizens, Desert Bluffs, Desert Other World, etc?

I'm not going to remove this yet, but let me just ask...

  • Demonic Possession: Implied by Winchell's statement at a press conference in Episode 17, "Valentine":
"The Mayor smells of olives. The Mayor burns like a match tip and casts her flickering light on the darkened path of fate. The Mayor does not have keys to the Stone Door; the Mayor is the Stone Door and all that quivers behind it. The Mayor is forgiving. The Mayor makes no mistakes. The Mayor clutches tightly to your lungs, all six arms embracing your savory breaths. Let the Mayor out. Let the Mayor out. Let the Mayor out."

I'm sorry, but what part of the above quote implies that Winchell is possessed by a demon? Because all I'm taking from it is that she's some sort of Humanoid Abomination or Lovecraftian horror. And that she's totally insane, but that was pretty obvious already. I'm not seeing Demonic Possession here.

"Night Vale writers Joseph Fink and Jeffery Cranor have both confirmed Cecil's sexuality as gay."

I'm not doubting this but sources are helpful when weighty words like "confirmed" come into play.

Should Cecil's surname be considered a spoiler? Most of the names of Night Vale citizens are obscured or deliberately left unrevealed. Since Palmer isn't revealed to be his surname until the thirty-third episode, it seems the creators' intention was to have this be a big revelation, and thus not something people would want to find out in advance. YMMV of course, but I think it should be kept under a spoiler tag. It's the most minor of inconveniences to someone who wants to find out, but very annoying to find out ahead of time if you didn't want to know in advance.

I don't think it should be. That they waited 33 episodes to reveal it could indicate that they didn't consider it particularly important, rather than that they thought it was. (My hypothesis is that they only revealed it to quash fandom's assumption that it was "Baldwin", like his voice actor—who is probably having a surreal time of it right now. Bet he can't get a pizza delivered!)

I think the litmus test is "Does knowing this information change anything?" Knowing that this character's name is Cecil Palmer? I'm hard-pressed to think of a situation in which this makes a lick of difference. Now, if Kevin 's last name turned out to be Palmer, that WOULD be a spoiler.

"The decision to use Cecil's name most likely stemmed from the fact that he, podcast co-creator Jeffrey Cranor, and Kevin Rich are involved with the Neo-Futurists, a theater troupe whose members use their own names and play fictionalized versions of themselves."

Who is Kevin Rich? The actor who plays Desert Bluffs' radio host is Kevin R. Free. Is that who the editor meant?
