I accidentally removed a large amount of info just now, courtesy of not knowing how ctrl-z would screw something up, how do you revert an edit on this wiki...? ~~~~

Just saw that this has been fixed, thank you to whoever did that, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

That kind of thing does happen from time to time. There isn't a general revert button (only the moderators have access to it), so you have to either do it manually or send a request to them through the "this article needs mod assistance with..." box under "tools" on the main wiki page.

Anyway, welcome to TVT and happy editing! You may wish to take a look at Wikipedia Syntaxer, by the way.

Edited by Telcontar That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

  • Complete Monster He's actually a subversion of the trope, despite what Fan Dumb claims. Let's see...
    • Shishio loved Yumi. Yes it was horribly screwed up. They're both freaking insane. But even as he kills her, he hasn't forgotten her: it's exactly what she wanted him to do, and not to mention he holds her in his arms as she dies, letting her perish in peace. And that's not to mention his bizzaro honour code: he insists on fighting Kenshin face to face and allows no one to interfere, and on top of that, legitimately believes that he's doing what's right for Japan (and in the flashbacks, for Soujiro). Therefore, he's not a monster, he's a Well-Intentioned Extremist Gone Horribly Wrong. You may not like the guy. You may even hate him or be disgusted by him. But that does not make him a Complete Monster. Only a total lack of human feeling can, combined with serious depravity, and zero audience sympathy. Shishio is a bastard, but he is not devoid of human qualities. He is not, never has been, and never will qualify as, a Complete Monster. For that, please see Gein and Enishi, below.

"Subverted"? The story pretended that he is a Complete Monster in some moment? The Yumi killing is closer to a subversion of Moral Event Horizon than of Complete Monster.

Enishi is closer to a Complete Monster subversion than Shishio. His Freudian Excuse, his obssession in "do his sister smile to him" and specially, his total incapacity to kill Kaoru-or permit others kill her humanize him.

I'm the one who wrote the speech about how Shishio isn't a Complete Monster. That's all I was trying to prove. Someone else added the subversion part at the top, and I was so relieved that no one had removed it and re-added Complete Monster (which had happened before) that I just left it alone. I don't believe it's a subversion, but he's hardly a Complete Monster either.
