I commented out the Boistrous Weakling entry on Shizuka as I no longer feel that it applies to her. The trope was first given to her in 2016, and much has happened since. Let's go over her record:

  • vs. Flying Tankers: Loss
  • vs. BC Freedom: Win (also, note that her taking advantage of BC Freedom's internal struggles is the same thing that Oarai did in Das Finale Part 2 - are we going to downplay that win, too?)
  • vs. Anzio: Win (although Bonple interfered at the end, it seemed as though Shizuka was in a good or at least neutral position prior to that - we cannot assume that she was, say, seconds from defeat)
  • vs. Duck Team: Draw
  • Teammates w/ Tategoto vs. Anzio: Loss
  • Teammates w/ BC Freedom vs. Kuromorimine: Win
  • vs. Flying Tankers (Cauldron 1st Round): Win
  • Cauldron 2nd Round: Difficult to gauge performance, other than that they weren't overall winner; knocked out by Team Oni
  • Teammates w/ various school commanders vs. Bonple: Win

Taking into account things that have happened later in the manga, I hardly think the trope applies to her any more. At worst, her record on paper appears to be average. I don't think scrutinizing her duel with Erika is fair, either, as it didn't matter so long as she kept Erika deceived (which she did - and she did a lot more than just that to keep her fooled).

Please, do not re-add references to Centurion being "a post-WW2 tank" again (among the several MEXT cheats) just because it was built before cut-off date but saw no combat. It's not even the last available such tank (it was actually built in late 1944, just like the Chi-Nu. Or the Mauss). That it was used post-war is irrelevant. So were the Pershing, Sherman, Chaffee, T-34... Using an unmodified Centurion Mk 1 is not any kind of "cheat" by any character. (Using a post-war version like the Mk 3 would be, just like using a Loophole Abuse - enabled version of a Pershing; but a run-of-the-mill Mk 1 is as legal as any other WW2 tank.)

Once upon a time, existed a trope called "feet focus" that was meant for deliberate showing of a character's feet. Now, this trope (its page turned into fetish fanservice compilation) is no more. And now, here we have Shizuka, whose introduction dedicates MUCH effort to show how she does things barefoot, it actually being a rather large part of the character's personality so far. This character WOULD have neccesitated that trope; damn the non-relevant compilations that made the trope dissapear, for this one is EXACTLY what that ex-trope was meant to be.

So... before we start an edit war, how do we write it?

Male Gaze is too unspecific. Does Not Like Shoes doesn't fit, because she takes out her shoes for a very specific reason. Handy Feet also isn't, because she's just using them to signal - the point is she insists in doing it barefoot. Feet-First Introduction is... close, because it "introduces" her quirks, but she is shown full face and full body much before. Footsie Under the Table is remarkably close, given Rin's reaction and how it's done out of sight, but the purpose is not DIRECTLY sexual (fanservice besides - we all known it's mean to suggest it).

I'd say it would be a downplayed Does Not Like Shoes in that she only dislikes using shoes for a specific task, not all the time. Anyone has a better sugestion?

Does Not Like Shoes fits the scenario absolutely. It doesn't matter why they don't like it, just that they don't.
