Nothing is truly set in stone as of yet, so despite what it seems or what seems to be the most likely given the current evidence, nothing has truly been made factual yet. For all we know, the party members' downcast faces could be mourning an alternate timeline Aerith who died while the "main" one yet lives. Or for all we know, the ending scene took place in the alternate timeline and not in the main one. Anything is possible at this point until part 3 clarifies things.

To be honest I think this whole page should be renamed to "Party Members," for which he would qualify.

Exactly - we shouldn't be unilaterally moving characters, particularly party members, without discussion.

But if we rename the page as "party members", strictly speaking we should moving Vincent and Cid's folders, as they do not qualify as such, at least for now. Furthermore, even considering Sonon a member of the party like the other protagonists seems generous to me, since he was not controllable by the player like the others, the only member of the group with whom he formed a party was Yuffie and he had no interaction with the other main characters.

In fact, in my opinion he qualifies more as a side character for Yuffie and that's it. That's why I feel his folder is more appropriate in the "Family & Close Friends" section of the "Other Characters" page.

A page for the Remake party members would be 259,359 bytes and counting, which is still past the limit. Cloud's entry is currently over 67,000. So do the split plus giving Cloud his own character specific page would probably be the best plan.

We actually haven't seen enough of their flashbacks yet to know how close they were, the "reveal" that they weren't so close comes later in the story, so it may have changed. So far Remake treated them as normal childhood friends.

To me they actually seem somewhat closer in the Remake. Child Tifa deliberately calls out to Cloud, something we never saw in the original and adult Tifa has some dialogue with Cloud about "the old days" which implies they were more than just acquaintances.

If so then why the hell would put on tifa’s page childhood acquaintances than childhood friends because in my opinion they were childhood friends back in the old days.

Buy the way I think that in the original game cloud and tifa became closer friends after cloud saves her from the mountain, but unfortunately the Original ff7 game didn’t make them canon but rather semi-canon. Hopefully in the remake they will be canon because Aerith’s death in the remake is inevitable.

The Childhood Friend entry does seem to be going against the soft rule we made of using knowledge of original FFVII events that didn't happen in Remake yet. If nobody is against the idea, I'll try to rewrite to be more vague so to be more in-line with what has been show in Remake so far.

By their own admission, Tifa did not know Cloud well growing up and he was not her friend. The perception that they are childhood friends was one of the OG's twists, presenting them as good friends but then they admit later they really weren't.

Drake Claw Fang many sources claim that they were childhood friends and not acquaintances articles, wiki pages exc.

That does not make them right, especially not over the original game.

And by the way in the original game on tifa’s cutscene quotes specifically said childhood friend and if they were acquaintances then why the hell was tifa crying while trying to help him remember who he was when they were in the livestream?

No, I am not a Cloti hater, I am someone who has played the original game and remembers its events. I have no interest in shipping, it is a statement of fact that they admit in the original game they weren’t really childhood friends. Cloud was a loner and an outsider to the three kids Tifa hung out with, and while they were neighbors Tifa didn’t know him that well.

Tifa: Was that the first day you came into my room? ...That’s right. We lived next to each other. But I really didn’t know you that well. I’ve known you since we were children and always thought we were close... Now that you mention it... I don’t recall you ever being in my room...

Cloud: That night I called Tifa out to the well... I thought to myself Tifa would never come... that she hated me.

That said, as BlackMage43 said, a new flashback scene has Tifa calling out to Cloud as a kid, so their childhood relationship may be changed. We’ll have to wait and see what other parts reveal about them.

Those quotes you showed me my be true, but it’s implied in the original game that they grew closer during the original story. And their was a scene where tifa and cloud sleep with each other.

Yes, I am aware of those other scenes. However, none of those points have any influence on your original complaint, that being "why did the remake change their childhood relationship". I was explaining that it did not. It merely makes the fact they were not actually childhood friends more evident earlier in the game than originally.

Given that your "opinion" seems to be you acknowledge the original game said something and but are choosing to ignore it to believe something contrary to what it said, then your opinion is wrong. You should not ask the site be edited to accomodate your opinions, nor should you confuse your interpretation of the characters with what the canon tells us about them.

First of all I’m not not trying to add my opinion’s to the character pages, second of all an opinion is an opinion and finally I’m not ignoring anything I’m aware of the cutscenes and quotes.

Given that you had previously complained about an editor who had changed the "childhood friend" statement on the page because it conflicted with your opinion, I deemed it necessary to remind you that this is poor practice.

Second, yes, opinions are opinions, and opinions can be wrong. If your opinion of Cloud and Tifa's relationship as children conflicts with what the original game directly states, then your opinion is wrong. Labeling something an opinion does not make it exempt from fact-checking.

Regardless, this is not the place to discuss that. Since you have said you understand the limitations on editing in regards to your "opinions", then I thank you for listening and understanding and agree this conversation may end.

Thank you but hopefully I want to see cloud and tifa as children hanging out in more flashbacks and I want them to finally be together in canon.
