And no there was no discussion, all you did was listen to a single person who isn't a mod.

Finley is stated to have fought her way to the Halitree while guarding Malenia. That could includes Morgott's forces. There is multiple ways to access the Haligtree (as all the gates can attest).

The fact that Malenia has a secret hidden statue in Atlus is nothing remotely noteworthy because A; her headquarters is in Atlus and B; She's a Demigod who would have received worship from the masses.

And no a caravan doesn't mean they are delivering it to the Halitree. They could be there for a variety of reasons, including gameplay reasons. They never enter the place, and there's nothing suggesting they have access to a medallion.

The only time in-game Morgott refers to Malenia is when he calls her willful traitors. Nothing more, nothing less. Post your THEROY and fanfiction on WMG because that's what it is. Because none of the stuff you are talking about is stated in-game by text.

So, on the entries implying Morgott was on semi-friendly terms with the Haligtree faction: the justification for removal is basically just straight wrong.

One, "there's no explicited text" is how storytelling in every Soulsborne game works. A lot of it is meant to be inferred from environmental details. And the ones here are more straightforward than most. There are Night's Cavalry in the Consecrated Snowfield, they drop armor noting that they work for Morgott, they're escorting a hearse with the Flowing Curved Sword in it, and their scripted path takes them to Ordina, which is Miquella's town and has nothing of note in it except the Haligtree waygate. "Morgott's men are bringing the Flowing Curved Sword to the Haligtree" is in fact explicit "text" in this case, because that's literally what's happening in the game. Same for Finlay passing through Altus and Leyndell unharmed. Millicent states that the path she took is the same as the one she's taking now, and it's literally only possible to take that path by walking directly through the capital, which is heavily guarded and whose walls have never been breached by force (Bolt of Gransax). Finlay went through Leyndell unharmed and not by force despite being wounded, sick, and carrying a nine-foot god with clanking golden limbs. This is, again, just "text."

Two, "Morgott's set of beliefs entail a greater hatred of the both of them due to their direct plans to replace the Erdtree and the Golden Order" is a sentence based on multiple misconceptions. First the idea that Miquella was trying to replace the Erdtree; he wasn't, he was trying to renew it. The Haligtree is a descendant of the Erdtree defended by the Erdtree's servants (Staff of the Avatar) that was supposed to live on like any plant spreading offspring. The reason he was doing this is because the current Erdtree was dying. This is noted in multiple item descriptions (e.g. Blessing of the Erdtree: "Erdtree once flourished with abundance- yet it was only for a fleeting moment. Such is the course of all life") and alluded to by Miyazaki himself in an interview ("the tree really fits the bill nicely for that because the tree is something that's alive, it's something that grew, it's something that will eventually wither and die"). So there's no hostility between them and the Erdtree; in fact, all of Miquella's soldiers even use Greater Will-tied Holy incantations. As for their supposed hostility to the Golden Order, there is none. There is not a single indication anywhere in the game that the Golden Order and Haligtree factions were at odds. This weird fan fiction seems to have spawned out of a misinterpretation of the description of Radagon's Rings of Light, which noted that Miquella abandoned not the Golden Order, but Fundamentalism, which is not the Order but a specific school of holy magic. In fact v 1.0's text (which was technically a release version of the game) for the Royal Knight Armor explicitly debunks the idea. It is stated in that description that Radagon, who's such a Golden Order toady that his boss title in Japanese is literally "The Golden Order, Radagon", supported the Haligtree to the point of sending knights to defend it, and that Miquella was meant to be his mother's heir as bearer of the Vision. With such text the complete lack of hostility between Leyndell and the Haligtree and the coincidence that they shared all the same enemies (Radahn, Rykard, and Godrick) starts making more sense, even if they're not straight allies.

Three, the statue of Miquella and Malenia in Altus has nothing to do with the Shaded Castle. They're located on opposite sides of the region. Moreover the fact that the Shaded Castle is loyal to the Haligtree is just itself more evidence that there's really no hostility between them and Leyndell. It's smack-dab in the middle of Morgott's territory and there's no signs of any hostile action from either side.

This should all be re-added. As far as environmental storytelling goes it's fairly obvious.

If there is no opposition to this by tomorrow, feel free to re-add them. Be prepared for some back and forth in the editing page before going back to this discussion page, though.

Don't worry about things. Life is cheap.

There's nothing in-game to suggest that this is the case. It's not environmental, it's your own headcanon. I will be reverting the change.
