Flanderization fits, but not with that writeup. Flanderization fits for the DBZ portrayal of Goku, which upped his heroic qualities to the point that he's essentially an All-Loving Hero rather than the fight-loving hero of DB and Super. The writeup there is focusing on what specifically is not flanderization, which is problematic.

Hop on over to this page and add them.I can see what you mean if the Flanderization was rewritten to mean Z's Goku's over Super's Goku. Mostly because Super's Goku keep getting put up as Flanderization ever few months when it's closer to Character Rerailment. Now, saying that Super went too far in the other direction is a giant Broken Base.
Also, to nitpick, Goku is a All-Loving Hero even in the original manga. The anime just up to him to messiah levels.
Edited by Ramona122003Reading these gave me a little more perspective, particularly since I was introduced to Goku with Toei's version.
Super gave us a bit of a rewrite of Goku's personality, and I suppose the interpretation (mine, particularly) depended on which iteration of him was used as a point of reference to see when and how he was Flanderized.
For the sake of preventing an edit war, since Goku changed between DB, DBZ, Super, and the manga, does this merit a mention in the write up, an extra bullet point, or an entry under Character Rerailment?
I say an entry for Flanderization covering his Z persona, and a Character Rerailment entry for Super.

Perfect. Seems like we're set here, then.

There is some debate rather this entry belongs here:
IMO, this fits under Character Rerailment since this was the way Goku was always supposed to be portrayed according to Toriyama and and it was his portrayal in the manga. It was the anime of Dragon Ball Z that made him heroic, so the anime originally did Flanderization on Goku's heroic qualities.
Yozzy state that this example fits because: This would be Character Rerailment if Goku had this characterization before
Which isn't what Flanderization is. Flanderization is when a certain characteristic or characteristic is exaggerated to the point that it defines the character.
But, I wanted to see the opinion of others here. Do you think this is proper used of Flanderization?
