I will wait for others don't want to make the process to break it up without the consent of more than one person...
Mileena MadnessThat's a cautious decision. Although, keep in mind that discussion pages aren't visited very often. I'm not sure someone else will answer you.
I'd say a split is in order. The anime covers less than half of the manga, so for the sake of everyone it seems like an anime and manga split is worth it.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Hum, I agree we need to split up the page, but I am not sure I agree with a simple manga/anime split (that would end up confusing). Let's see how we could split:
- 2 sections: "Characters appearing in both the Anime and Manga", and "Characters only appearing in the Manga". Problem: that would lead to some issues regarding spoiler tags. Would it be fair to spoiler tag everything that didn't take place in the Anime? Certainly not (not to mention the Anime has some divergent characterisation IIRC; I don't remember how it ended either).
- 3 sections: Protagonists (mainly Black Order members), Antagonists (mainly Noah members and Apocryphos), Others. Problem: Others is to short to warrant a section dedicated for it, and most characters in that section could simply be listed in the Antagonists section (under an "Akuma" folder). The real question would be to know where to list Mana Walker...
- 4 sections: Main Protagonists (including at least Allen, Lenalee, Lavi, Yu - the main reason behind it is that these characters are way more developped than the rest, though we definitly could add more tropes to their entries before it becomes a necessity), Black Order, Antagonists, Others. Same problem about "Others" though.
We could go for three sections and have Protagonists, Antagonists mainly Noah, and finally the Other section for everyone else. Length is kind of an issue, but we could place the Akuma into that section to make up for that...
Mileena MadnessWell, I'd say a "characters as they appear in the anime" page would be worthwhile.
Anime fans won't get spoiled on manga info, manga fans don't have to dumb things down for the anime fans. Seems win-win to me.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Hum, I don't think this would work. Though, I think we can do like what they did for the FFXIII characters page, with tropes present in both the manga and the anime, and a sub-section/headline like the one below to set apart tropes only present in the manga (huh, weird, the headline isn' highlighted in light blue in a discussion page - though it does work if the Night Vision is activated):
Tropes present only in the manga
That being said, if the characterisation of the anime characters is so far off the one they get in the manga, then in that case it may be necessary to do what you suggest, but I would rather avoid it unless it is stricly necessary. As far as I remember, the anime characters and the manga characters are very similar, so I really don't think a subpage for how they appear in the anime is necessary at all (though, if there are exclusive anime characters, then a subpage for them may be a good idea).
Edited by NonoRobotPerhaps we can them sub folders under the main one giving them manga only details then?
Mileena MadnessWell the anime is coming back so I think we need to decide on how to split up the character page now.
Mileena Madness- Cute Shotaro Boy: At fifteen, Allen looks very young in the beginning of the series.
One, Cute Shotaro Boy has been renamed to Adorably Precocious Child. Two, this trope is highly misused and this example suggests that it does not apply; please check the definition at Adorably Precocious Child before re-adding.
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.
Is it time to split up the page? With the manga sort of back and the new revelations it might help to split up the characters into different sections.
