I seem to be getting an error that says "Sorry, you cannot insert HTML into his article" or something along those lines.

I'm pretty sure I didn't insert HTML anywhere.

Additionally, I seem to be locked out of the page/the page appears to be edit locked... is anyone else getting this error?

Look at the bulletings to the right of the bag: Spurious page locks is a bug they're working on fixing.
