Can we use this discussion page as a place to discuss whether or not a particular trope fits a character/situation/whatever or should that be restricted to the relevant works discussion page?

What's the difference between this and round peg square trope?

I made this post by mixing high grade sentences with Pokémon, um you know. Hide / Show Replies

Square Peg Round Trope is when you try to shoehorn an example into a trope it doesn't fit — the trope is just wrong, doesn't match the situation, etc..

Tropes Are Flexible is because whilst sometimes tropes don't fit, they still can be Played for Drama, Exaggerated, and just generally aren't rigid. For example, Trail of Bread Crumbs can involve blood drips rather than breadcrumbs — it's the same principle.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
