I'd say they still deserve to be here. In fact, discount any "needs help" pages and sandboxes too. I once was in a TRS for a starving trope and general consensus seemed to be that such wicks didn't really count because they don't help the trope's presence in the wiki, so to speak.

What about recap pages? Should they count towards the number of wicks? Also, do YMMV tropes belong here?

I'd say recaps count with the wick count.
I've seen some YMMV listed here, so I guess they do.

I was thinking that we should add another rule to the description: "Wicks from this page and similar "Needs Help" pages don't count".

What should I do if a page here does in fact have 24 wicks, but only because Pages Needing Wicks is one of those wicks?
