I think there is two tropes in here too. Type 1 is the guy who desperately seeks the rear placement while resisting any attempt to move them towards combat(like Darling from BlackAdder and Pertwee in TheNavyLark) and type 2 is the guy who is forced to stay back when he\'d rather be LeeroyJenkins (MisterRoberts, the guy with [[CaptainAmerica the flag on his head]]). If the TRS was open I\'d be opening a thread suggesting a soft split (and defending a rename suggestion from Spark, but that is par for the course with the TRS).
