I seriously doubt that, as in particular, the plans of Magma, Aqua, and Flare would've resulted in global devastation. I can buy Lysandre escaping from the failure of Team Flare's plot since they NeverFoundTheBody, as well as Cyrus eventually returning of his own accord, or even being found by Team Rainbow Rocket in Ultra Space. (Perhaps Ultra Space and the Distortion World are one and the same? Maybe Giratina is an Ultra Beast? Maybe most if not all the Legendaries are Ultra Beasts?)
