** One of the WesternAnimation/{{Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles|1987}} gives Michael a spiel about how marijuana is bad. Of all the turtles to do so, this special decided it should be \'\'[[TheStoner Michaelangelo]]\'\'. (It\'s obvious this is because he was the most \"popular\" Turtle at the time but the producers clearly had no idea \'\'why\'\' he was so popular.)
** The special does [[LampshadeHanging lampshade]] this: when Michael sees the \'\'WesternAnimation/DuckTales\'\' characters surrounding him, he exclaims, \"Now I\'m seeing ducks?? Man, I\'ve gotta get off of these drugs!\"

The first example is just plain old irony, and is listed as such further down the page--it\'s not actually a BrokenAesop. The second \'\'would\'\' be an example except that, as discussed on the Headscratchers page, it\'s based on a faulty premise. And the third is \"lampshading\" something that isn\'t described to be an example (perhaps meant as a followup to an example that was previously deleted). That leaves BrokenAesop with zero actual examples, so away it goes.

So because you like the character it means that the consensus with the rest of the fanbase is irrelevant? It's more than safe to say that a vast majority of fans hate this character. It was so bad that for weeks the preview of Pokemon episodes on TV Tokyo was in the tens of thousands of dislikes and even got disabled for a period of time.

I'm adding Alain back to the list. Your opinion doesn't dictate facts and you're coming off as an angry fanboy/fangirl who doesn't like the fact that his/her favorite character has a negative reaction. Fact is, people were angry with the anime specifically because of this character. They wanted this character to lose. They don't care that it was a good battle, they wanted him to lose the battle and give us something new in the 20 year anime history. Alain represents the status quo of the anime series. The fandom is sick of characters like him. He was made to appeal to older audiences the same way the actual Scrappy was done to appeal to kids. The older fandom overwhelmingly showed hate for this character post-finals match and didn't feel any sympathy for him in the arc that followed. He was seen as nothing more than a plot-armored creator's pet to the level exceeding Paul.

Also, I would like to add one thing. If Tobias is on here, then so should Alain. Tobias at least gave Ash a moral victory in being the one and only to knock out his Darkrai, and later Pikachu tying Latios. Alain came across as a Gary Stu who never lost any battle and his golden Pokemon Charizard swept through everyone.

Yes. Alain is a scrappy character. Your holdout of him is irrational. I could make a post defending Max, but would he be allowed to be taken off the list just cause you might think otherwise? Alain doesn\'t deserve special treatment just because you like him. He\'s a scrappy in many fans\' eyes and needs to be on here.
