Apart from fashion or fitness magazines targeted at men, I know I haven\\\'t seen men posing in any particular state of undress on advertisements in public until \\\'\\\'very\\\'\\\' recently... while women\\\'s bodies are \\\'\\\'constantly\\\'\\\' used in \\\"sex sells\\\" campaigns.

You know what\\\'s interesting about \\\"idiot men\\\" characters? How they always ultimately have the \\\"boys will be boys excuse\\\", and how the women in their lives always forgive them everything, Meanwhile, the women have to be serious and hard-working to make up for the men, but what do they get? Nine times out of ten, the show is still \\\'\\\'about\\\'\\\' the men -- they are the ones who are the focus of attention, and get all the interesting things happening to them. They are the protagonists we are expected to relate to. It\\\'s the \\\'\\\'women\\\'\\\' who are the foil to the men, and the men are the focal point of the show. There are exceptions of course, but again -- compare the numbers. How many shows such as you describe focus on women primarily, and how many on men?

I continue to be confused about your insistence that 1) sexism does not exist, and 2) the fact that women so rarely climb as high as men in most professions is not a problem at all. Isn\\\'t that, you know, a huge example of sexism \\\'\\\'right there\\\'\\\'?

And seriously, \\\"only tree house\\\"? Really? Oh, those poor men, the only preserve they have is all the positions of power in the world, can\\\'t we \\\'\\\'at least\\\'\\\' give them that, the poor dears... 9_9

And you know what, I don\\\'t buy the giant gap you\\\'re making between the elite and the \\\"rest of us\\\" throughout your posts. Naturally only a minority of any population can be the \\\"elite\\\", but there is at least a reasonable amount of social mobility in society these days. It\\\'s far from perfect, but it\\\'s far from there being some impregnable fortress of elite-ness at the top. Men can advance. Women often face obstacles, in every field they enter.

And you know what, a single mother who is poor \\\'\\\'does\\\'\\\' need more help than a single man who is not taking care of a child does. Guess what\\\'s more common -- poor single mothers, or poor single fathers? (The latter deserve the same amount of help, obviously -- but generally, the issues affecting poor single parents affect women disproportionately).

Also, are you \\\'\\\'seriously\\\'\\\' dismissing the issue of abortion, in America, in the current political climate? Have you noticed perhaps that certain women \\\'\\\'can\\\'t afford abortion\\\'\\\', no matter how much they need it, and that funding for it was a bit of an issue recently?..
