I want to say it's The Electric Company (2009), I think I remember a hard/soft G sequence that came from there.

it was a live action series that taught english for kids. probably aired mid-late 2000s, in america at least. in the pilot episode (i think) the characters were in a cafe, and one of the mean characters said "see you later, alligator" and then used magic to spawn some alligators somehow. there were also cutaway segments, both animated and live action, and one of the live action segments was a rap explaining the difference between hard G and soft G, where one guy represented hard G and one guy represented soft G.
