I recall a sketch on a sketch comedy series from some time in the 1980s which was an "in depth report" about some 3rd/4th world country whose only product is begging. The President/PM/etc. is chosen by who can beg the best. It shows the president/PM/etc. driving up in his limousine to a poor street beggar. The president then begs at the street beggar, who gives the President a bit of fluff/dust from his begging bowl. My memory, which may not be correct, is that the president is played by Richard Deacon and that the show was Not Necessarily the News, but a skim of IMDB suggests that one or both of these are wrong since according to that Richard Deacon never appeared on _NNtN_ or any other sketch comedy series. Thanks.
