IJBM: The fact that this thread isn't talking more about Yuri Gagarin.

I already made the Yuri Gagarin joke, GMH. I'm waiting for someone to start a Yaoi thread.

no one will notice that I changed this

This post contains a witty statement expressing my love of yuri with a sly reference to Touhou.

Oh, Pieta and Honey & Honey are also really wonderful yuri series.

And it bugs me that there are only two images relating to Ame-iro Kouchakan Kandan on safebooru and danbooru, and this is the best one. >:C

Is there any real difference yuri and plain romance with males and females?

I'd say yuri is more fabulous, but I'm not sure if that counts as a "real" difference. wink

One thing about yuri is there's no defined gender roles and while some works do play up a Tomboy and Girly Girl or Sempai/Kōhai pairing, it generally means that a yuri pairing is somewhat less predictable regarding specific couple roles.

The Girls' Love page also offers a list of tropes that are more common in yuri works than in heterosexual works.

and that's how Equestria was made!

Also, you have the addition of Gayngst, as well as butch-butch and femme-femme relationships, which changes the dynamics.

Yes, it contains only girls. That alone makes it better.

Jesus, that's big! My own NanoFate folder isn't even half as big.

But that reminds me that I should look for more NanoFate doujinshis.

It is quite possible.

And to mix things up...

Wife and Wife is adorable. It also has what is essentially gay Osaka.

And on a completely different note...
