Should NonHumanNonBinary apply to object show characters?

Seems like a misapplication of the trope based on the title to me. The trope is about non binary aliens, robots, elves, etc in works with predominantly human casts. In object shows, every (or almost every) character is some sort of living object or symbol, so I don't think characters who just happen to be non binary such as Winner or Paintbrush apply because they're the same species as the rest of the cast. What do you think?

Not particularly familiar with Object Shows, but I agree with you: if every or almost every character in a work is a non-human and only one or two are non-binary, the trope doesn't apply.

EDIT: Also, completely unrelated, but should the genre Object Shows be a plural by default? That seems wrong.

I think Non-Human Non-Binary could apply to works without prominent human characters if they're, say, Xenofiction with a focus on how another species' society is different to our own... but Object Shows aren't that.

[up]Even then, the trope requires there to be a correlation between the "non-human" and "non-binary". Say we have a show about anthropomorphic letters. If only the characters N and Z are non-binary, there's no correlation, because most of the (non-human) characters are still male or female. (I guess it would be a legit example if N and Z explicitly belonged to a different species from the other letters, making them aliens in-show.)
