our page says the original film is 30 years old, dang
New theme music also a boxOf all unnecessary sequels, this ranks pretty high up there.
Like the first movie is a fine self contained story. Why does this need to be a franchise?

Here’s the page if anyone wants to help with it.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.@Ultimatum In 2026 it is.
Excited for this movie not just because it looks really well made, but because after the great chemistry Glen Powell had with Sydney Sweeney in Anyone but You, he looks like he'll have great chemistry here with Daisy Edgar-Jones too.
I mean this movie is 30 years off my radar. It didn't need a sequel, movies rarely do, but a sequel is pretty inoffensive so I can't bring myself to complain about it.
Granted its more proof Hollywood is out of ideas and poaches old ones to "resell" them.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I’ve seen the first one recently. It’s good dumb fun.
I’ll admit, I’m interested to see how they handle a sequel.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. One thing to note is that this was shot on film with frequent J.J. Abrams collaborator Dan Mindel as cinematographer.
That's actually awesome.
I don't have any lost love for the original; it's a serviceable blockbuster that I feel like was meant to be seen on TNT or something as a young person, but it has some pretty fun destruction sequences, and that's all I ask from this movie. Looks like it delivers on the level that it needs to.
I thought it strange that Helen Hunt isn't back, but apparently she wanted to pitch a sequel and Amblin wouldn't even hear her out, which is kind of a bummer.
As much as I like Twister, even rewatching it recently, it certainly is a 'Forgotbuster' that didn't leave much of a culture mark, aside from some of the destruction scenes and of course, the flying cow. Still, the trailer is awesome, and there are already those hopeful that like another thing with Glen Powell, Top Gun: Maverick, it will be a sequel we never knew we needed.
And while a Bill Paxton tribute is certain, would be nice if this was played or Wolfgang Van Halen was brought in for a song to do another.

will they include the cow from the previous movie as an Easter egg
New theme music also a boxNot that exact cow since even if it lived, that's too long of a gap for it to be alive, but I imagine they'll put in a cow.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. If the sequel to Twister is Twisters, I expect multiple cows.

The cow was a CGI creation that came with their modeling software.
New theme music also a boxThe third movie will be about an army of cows rising up against the tornados.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Wouldn’t surprise if that’s the plot of a theoretical third movie.
This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!
GIVE ME YOUR FACEHaving never seen the Alien movies, this seems to be running on the idea of: "You've seen what one Twister can do, well now how about two?"
It feels like the right idea though. Next logical step is to try something even bigger and grander than the first one did certainly. Much like Independence Day, Twister despite its flaws is still admired and beloved for a reason: high concept spectacle that hit the right kind of sensational response when it first came out, to the point that it was a hit despite the criticisms it got and for good reason too.
There were hordes of aliens in Aliens. And there was already more than one twister in Twister.
I'm not sure I've seen the original all the way through but maybe I have forgotten it in the intervening decades.
Anyway from the trailer this seems like as much remake presented as a sequel than anything else.
They dealt with different twisters at different times though and not like here were "WE GOT TWINS! TWINS!" Haha.
clearly what they is a Super Mega Ultra Twister!
New theme music also a boxGot a Luke Combs song made for the movie:
I love it when movies do proper soundtrack albums.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I didn't know Disaster Movies were still a thing.
The last one I remember is 2012 (from 2009). And that one was so spectacularly dumb, it was actually quite funny.

This could work. My biggest problem with the first film was the whole love triangle. I cared more about the storm chaser team in general than whether Bill and Jo would get back together. Doing a friendly rivalry between scientists and thrill-seekers might make for an interesting plot.
The one thing I was worried about was when I saw the overpass. There is a myth that being under one will protect you during a tornado. It will not. I'm hoping this film won't make the same mistake as Man of Steel and instead show why it is a bad idea.
