Since Chuck Norris has fallen out of fad, it's safe to write that the meme was specific to 2000s. Memetic Badass is also something that totally existed prior to 2000, like Kenshiro.

It does warrant a mention on his page (which it currently has) but Trope Codifier sinkhole, that can go. YMMV is not a trope, anyway.

I was thinking about how to improve this. Since this page lacks a preface, how about this:

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a Japanese anime aired between January and April 2011, created by Magica Quartet, a collaborative team of Akiyuki Shinbo, Ume Aoki, Gen Urobuchi and Studio Shaft. Its Magical Girl Genre Deconstruction theme made it one of the most famous animes released in the 2010s, influencing many similar works released thereafter.

Here's Deadpool: The Merc with a Mouth. The Regenerating Degenerate. The Guy Who Won't Die. Ninja Spider-Man. Ryan Reynolds. Captain Deadpool. Marvel's Meta Jerkass Woobie.

The Fourth-Wall Observer. The Heroic Comedic Sociopath.

A sexy mother-fucker.

I say keep The Merc With a Mouth and Ryan Reynolds and most likely Jerkass Woobie.

ComicBook.Deadpool (Linking the page for convenience's sake)

Like many comic book examples discussed here, they just go on so long it defeats the point of being a concise description. This time Trope Codifier is linked to Heroic Comedic Sociopath, and I'm certain he's most definitely not the case when he debuted in 1991.

I think replacing them with JustForFun.Describe Topic Here will get the point across much quicker — he's a Fourth-Wall Observer after all — but I don't know the comic to provide input. Cutting down some of those like you said would be also an improvement.

Cleared an example off the top of ComicBook.Green Lantern (and moved one wick from it to an appropriate place later in the article); archived in the sandbox.

Until next time...

Rewrite the first part. Her entry for Action Girl says this: One of the first major examples in all of video game history, if not the first.

And this is what it says for the video game section: Samus Aran is the original video game Action Girl, even if that wasn't always obvious. Nowadays, everybody knows — and she's still one of the most badass characters in the video game world, female or no.

[up][up]Are they official nicknames for Samus Aran in the same way like "Man of Steel" for Superman? I don't have strong enough an opinion about the first line to support removing them, but those feel out of place. Personally, Metroid's story feels a lot more subdued about Samus, in contrast to someone like Master Chief from Halo.

The second line, I have some issues with it because video games of the 1980s had plenty of Action Girl. Athena Asamiya (Psycho Soldier), Alis (Phantasy Star I), and Reika (Time Gal) are all from successful 1980s games. Reika predates Samus by a year. Samus has one of the longest legacy but as a Trope Codifier of general Action Girl tropes, I'm doubtful.

I think it can be improved by specifying Samus' unique properties. Two things I suggest is a) she's the Trope Codifier of Samus Is a Girl (since TV Tropes named the trope after her) and b) she's Nintendo's first Action Girl. By focusing on these her description can be made more matter-of-fact.

[up] Well, the only thing is, those games were fairly obscure whereas Metroid was pretty well known.

They were all as famous as the first Metroid in the 80s. Metroid didn't get uber popular until the third game.

Can we improve on these five of Comic Book introductions?

    The Joker (DC Comics)
The Clown Prince of Crime. The Harlequin of Hate. The Ace of Knaves. The Jester of Genocide. The Mountebank of Mirth. Mistah J.

The Monster Clown. The Arch-Enemy.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!

The Joker is a comic book supervillain owned by DC Comics, who primarily appears as a member of Batman's Rogues Gallery. Often recognized as Batman's Arch-Enemy, he is a dangerous madman who dresses like a clown and commits violent crimes. His crimes require no motivation other than his sadistic desire to show people the meaninglessness of life through pain and death, and the narcissism to see the world remade in his own image.

    Lex Luthor
Diabolical Mastermind. Mad Scientist. LexCorp CEO. Evil Genius.

The Supervillain.

Alexander Joseph "Lex" Luthor is the archenemy of Superman, and one of the oldest villains in comic book history, making his debut in Action Comics #23 in April of 1940. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the same team who created Superman himself, Luthor was an instant success, and ensured himself a permanent place in the Last Son of Krypton's Rogues Gallery. Since then he's gone onto be a major player in the DC Universe, serving as one of its most iconic villains, alongside the likes of the Joker.

    Crisis on Infinite Earths
Crisis on Infinite Earths is an ambitious 12-issue mini-series by DC Comics, lasting from April 1985 to March 1986. Essentially, The Crisis Crossover.

    Captain America
The First Avenger. The Star-Spangled Man with a Plan. The Man Out of Time. The Sentinel of Liberty. America's ass. The Big Good of the Marvel Universe.

The Captain Patriotic.

Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March, 1941), created by Joe Simon and Jack "King" Kirby for Timely Comics. (Timely would later change its name to Marvel Comics). Captain America is one of the many, many patriotic superheroes created during World War II to bolster morale on the home front. But none of those heroes have lasted as long, been as influential, become as famous, or transcended their original time better than Captain America.

    The Punisher (Marvel Comics)
The Scourge of the Underworld. The Little Hunter. Mr. UnSmiley. The Skull Faced Guy. The Marvel Universe's Grim Anti-Hero.

The Sociopathic Hero.

The Punisher is a Judge, Jury, and Executioner, a Marvel Comics vigilante whose only passion is finding and executing criminals. The Punisher first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #129 (February, 1974), created by writer Gerry Conway, along with artists John Romita, Sr. and Ross Andru.

I'd delete most of the stuff from The Joker save for The Clown Prince of Crime, rework Lex Luthor's intro to explain how he started off as a mad scientist before becoming a CEO, rework Crisis on Infinite Earths as well and finally, delete most of the Punisher's stuff as well as Captain America.

Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March, 1941), created by Joe Simon and Jack "King" Kirby for Timely Comics. (Timely would later change its name to Marvel Comics). Thoughts?

Reworked the description of ComicBook.Crisis On Infinite Earths and now the intro looks like this:

     Intro
Crisis on Infinite Earths is an ambitious 12-issue mini-series by DC Comics, lasting from April 1985 to March 1986. Bringing together virtually all the heroes of the DCU to fight an enemy who threatens to destroy the entire multiverse, the Anti-Monitor. It's one of the first ever comic "events", essentially codifying the Crisis Crossover (Contest of Champions (1982) actually came first, as well as Secret Wars (1984), which was more of a merchandising promotion like DC's Super Powers),

As a child, little Marvin Wolfman wanted to do a big series where every hero in DC Comics, ever, would team up to fight a cosmic villain called "The Librarian". Then Marvin grew up and became Marv Wolfman, the man who managed to make the Teen Titans successful.

Since I took some of of the intro from paragraph seven, it also had to change a little bit and now looks like this:

     Paragraph Seven
Crisis is also notable for promising "Everything you know will change! The DC Universe will never be the same!" and actually delivering. Unfortunately, for every continuity problem it fixed, three more sprang up in its place, leading The DCU to become even more convoluted and cluttered than it was before as writers scrambled to fill in the gaps left by characters and universes that no longer ever existed. Indeed, the changes wrought throughout the DC Universe by Crisis were so profound that, according to some, its publication marked the end of The Bronze Age Of Comic Books.

What do y'all think?

Went ahead and shaved off most of Characters.BatmanTheJoker's adjectives and also took the liberty to remove the first quote since more than one quote on a page doesn't look good.
