Spun off the main odd confessions thread; this thread is for odd confessions related to TV Tropes itself.
Excessive complaining isn't allowed anywhere on the site. Keep it out of this thread.
I felt guilty about having to remove some of the real life examples on Mandela Effect. I would not have removed them if they didn't violate site policy. I enjoyed reading those examples, and I'm sure the people who wrote them are not happy about them being removed.

Just call it a series of coincidences so the police dont arrest you
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindWhy would they be arrested? I'm the one whose avatar is a character who ended up on a wanted poster.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Yes hello 911, I got a cult leader over here, please send the SWAT team
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindIn the past when I didn't really know TVT etiquette, I added a lot of opinionated stuff to articles. Especially about my favorite characters.
I'm slightly scared of receiving PMs. I probably shouldn't be, but I wonder if it would be less scary if the notifier for PMs was a color other than red.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?I dislike overly long and fat navigation boxes at the top of the page — I find them ugly and unwieldly to read through, and pity everybody who has to manually update them on all the subpages if something is split, cut, or merged. It's an indication of wanting to be a fandom wiki to me, since those are commonplace on those...but usually much easier to update.
(Yes, I am proud of moving to get rid of the navboxes on Series.Game Of Thrones and Characters.Pokemon subpages.)
It did used to be a green bar.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. You're not alone on that. PMs have always made me kind of anxious as well, and while that's lessened to an extent after I became a mod, I really don't have much of a reason to react to the PM indicator that way these days when the PMs I receive these days are more likely to say "Hey, could you look into this thing this other person did?" instead of "You screwed something up."

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I get nervous with PMs to. It's rarely ever bad but I still have to brace myself every time.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSame here. (Especially since a part of me's afraid that it's a warning or worse over something I did back when I had issues with myself.)
Kinda dreamed once that it was red for messages from admins/mods but blue for ones from non-staff.
That would be so much better. It would basically be like "RESPOND AS FAST AS YOU CAN. THERE IS A PROBLEM." or "Random message about random topic." It would be so much less worrying.
Agreed. My heart skips a beat whenever I see that red notification.
I think the indicator for query responses (which appears below the one for PMs) is green, but I could be misremembering because I only saw it once because the query in question was a locked TRS announcement and it said there was a reply because it was bumped by another mod.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Yeah, it's green. Much more calming. Surprising when you first see it, but you quickly get used to it.
I guess it counts as a confession that I didn't know what the green indicator was when I first saw it, and clicking on it was how I found out what it was for.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I assume the red thing is based in color theory, since red is actually the color we see the fastest (which is also why stop-lights and stop-signs are red). So I guess the idea is that people are more likely to see the notifiers if they're green. Red just sadly also has connotations of anger and danger, sooo...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessRe: Naviboxes
Out of curiosity I checked but I think there's still one big fat navbox on the Game of Thrones character pages.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Red being associated with anger and danger why I don't like the idea of the PM notifier only being red for PMs from mods and admins instead of remaining red regardless of who sent the PM. I don't like coming across as intimidating just because I'm a mod (and I end up feeling like I screwed up if that happens anyway), so I don't want the site's software making that harder.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Maybe we could make PM notifications orange. They're still eye catching but don't have the harsh connotations of red.

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Orange is my favorite color, so I'm all in favor of that.
He may be a giant, nightmarish brute, but like all villains in this series,he sure can sing. It'd be cool if people could choose which color they wanted notifications to be... though in that case it'd also be cool if people could choose between multiple site themes.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMe, I actually get excited when I see the red notification.
Check out my forum game: Rate the above YMMV.It still annoys me to no end that the namespace icon wasn't moved from Theater/ to Theatre/
Is it really that difficult to do?
I'd like to apologize for all this. Not difficult, the admins are just allergic to doing minor QOL changes instead of implementing things nobody asked for rather than focusing on bigger ones. (I'm still annoyed the thumb emojis aren't transparent, they look dumb af)
I think I've started a new avatar trend... I hesitate to call it a "cult" because it doesn't really feel to me like a repeat of the Fidough incident? Idk
