Cleanup Thread: MCU Character Pages

Considering how you can literally just copy and paste everything above public organizations to make the public servant page I’d say go for it.

Yeah public servants is a good idea.

Edit: Looking at the NYC civilians page, I think we could probably get rid of the Private Organizations and merge the characters with tropes into their respective boroughs to clean up the page a bit.

MCU: Time Variance Authority and MCU Mobius M Mobius total character count == 174591 characters. No Mobius variants - strongly recommend re-insertion of Mobius into TVA.

Also suggest merging Helmut Zemo with a separated out Sokovian Citizens page as a good option?

Yes to Mobius, but I don'd understand what you want to do with Zemo.

Yeah...Zemo seems fine where he is. And I don't recall there being very many Sokovian citizens of importance outside of him and the Maximoff family.

If Zemo has to be merged back, he'd probably fit better with the Criminals & Terrorists page, which by the way is well below the byte minimum.

Actually, Zemo belongs to the MCU: Other Supervillains page (he has a costume and everything).

Can we actually call him a supervillain if he doesn't have any powers or super-tech?

Well, he fights superheroes, brainwashes people, uses bombs, gas, and the likes, and he wears a supervillain's mask... he's not exactly your average criminal.

Also, he tore the Avengers part. You have to be a real supervillain to do that.

Yeah, supervillain to me is putting on a costume, fighting a hero on your own, or committing crimes on your own, Zemo ticks all the boxes.

Hey I just noticed we have three different Multiversal villains pages.

• MCU: Multiversal Villains
• MCU Multiversal Foes
• MCU Multiversal Spider Man Foes

I think we could stand to just have one Multiversal Villains page. Could we figure out a way to combine them all?

Just turned Multiversal Villains into a redirect for Multiversal Spider-Man Foes.

While the Spider-Man villains could be merged with the rest, Norman Osborn's page might push the byte count to its limit.

Also, Otto Octavius' folder was moved to the Spider-Man Raimi trilogy to give himself a character specfic page, so before we do anything else we should discuss that choice.

Shouldn't multiversal villains go to multiversal foes? Also multiverse stuff gives me a headache, but I'm not sure what to do with the variants either.

Awaiting more discussion on Zemo. I do not support a move to Other Supervillains as he's a Badass Normal.

If Badass Normal discounts you from being a superperson, then Hawkeye needs to be kicked out of the Avengers.

But seriously, MCU: Other Superheroes has an entire section for regular humans, so I see no reason why MCU: Other Supervillains can't be the same.

Exactly like if you look at top superhero and top supervillain lists you'll see there’s a fair share of characters without powers

Another one that should be combined with the MCU: Other Supervillains page is MCU: Darren Cross (49k no variants) - but then with both Zemo and Cross, we are getting close to crossing the 250k threshold of MCU: Other Supervillains

Have we considered merging some of the villains from the Dimensions page with the human magic users and supernatural beings to create a new page? That should create a bit more space.

Hmmm. Maybe. Depends how many there are.

Guys: I'll take care of Ronan, but don't forget to update Marvel Cinematic Universe Full Byte Count (as well as each film's character list) when you make changes. I see the full byte count still has characters that were merged back (Harrow among others).

I hope you realize, that Star Wars has tons of merged character specific pages that have subsections (i.e. Han Solo's Prequel/Original/Sequel Trilogy folders within Star Wars – Rebel Heroes? Which one is messier? I realize that this is off-topic-ish, but I wanted to make an analogy here. Either they get broken up, or we take the variants folders into the groupings with the characters and consolidate in MCU.

It's almost like every film franchise has its own rules. (not surprised)

Also, not to wake up a dead subject - but Star Trek has character entries for the star ships.
