Characters.Pokémon Reorganization/Cleanup

Because Gen 8 was around the corner with new updated models, and it would be a pain to update the whole pages every time a new gen comes around with new models. Plus, there's a transparent issue.

Anyway, as was said before, this thread is about the organization, not the images.

So if certain sections of the pages get too big, how do we split them up then? Maybe we can look at the anime Pokemon page for example.

That sort of depends? I feel like the way the anime character folders are split are very similar to how game pages are split, just that the regional Elite Four, Champion and other characters are put into one page. So it is like we are going back to square one.

I've removed the Aether Foundation section on the Sun and Moon sandbox and had it link to its separate page. It's within size limits again.

I'd rather have the Aether Foundation, Team Skull, and the Ultra Recon Squad on a separate page called Characters.Pokemon Sun And Moon Antagonists or something (assuming the Aether Foundation being antagonists is enough of a widespread spoiler). That would make it less likely Characters.Pokemon Sun And Moon would need to be split again later.

I brought up on ATT that Characters.Pokemon Generation I Magikarp To Mew should be renamed to Characters.Pokemon Generation I Magikarp To Dragonite, since the Mew Duo have their own page and there isn't a gap.

Where's this one at? The sandboxes seem ready aside from the S&M ones. Could we go ahead and move the rest to Characters/?

Sword and Shield needs to be done as well. I can work on that over the weekend; I'm in the middle of qualifying exams for my PHD program rn, but will have more free time when they end tomorrow.

I've made Characters Pokemon Sword And Shield, and ended up rearranging some of the character folders- I put Peony in the 'Allies' section since he's never fought as a gym leader, and Mustard in the 'Other NPCs' section since he's a former region champion, and cannot be fought as the champion in either game.

I removed Cassius from that sandbox; I assume that was a copy-paste error. And we once again run into the consistency issue of white glows around character artwork; I'd prefer to keep them since they're part of the artwork as it was released, though a few like Mustard and Sonia seem to lack them.

Also, should Miltank be in Tauros' folder on Pokémon: Generation I - Gastly to Miltank? Tauros and Miltank are from different generations, and the only official indication of them being related is that they're on the same Pokédex page in Pokémon Sun and Moon and the Ultra games.

Tauros and Miltank are paired next to each other in Isles of Armor Pokédex. That being said, the pairing might be for similar reasons for like how Pinsir and Heracross have started to appear with one another in later games.

Lillie from Sun and Moon (both the games and the anime) could have her own character page instead of being on both Characters.Pokemon Other Non Playable Characters and Characters.Pokemon The Series Sun And Moon Cast.

After all, The Other Wiki has a page on her.

The new page would be Characters.Pokemon Lillie

Mohn (Lillie's father) can be added to her page.

We don't put versions of characters from different continuities on the same character page, and it doesn't matter that Wikipedia has a page for her.

It still puts the Aether Foundation, Team Skull, and the Ultra Recon Squad together, but isn't as possibly spoilerly as calling it antagonists or villains.

I still oppose per reasons given earlier, even if I do like consistency in most cases.

I'm fine with that Major Organizations page.

Made Characters Pokemon Header; does this look good? If so, is there anything any else needed before we swap the sandboxes in?

Pokémon Trainer Classes is missing from the header, and I still think Characters.Pokemon Generation I Magikarp To Mew should be moved to Characters.Pokemon Generation I Magikarp To Dragonite, and it'd be easier to do that now so we only have to change the headers on all the pages once. I'm also still not sure if Miltank should be moved from Pokémon: Generation I - Gastly to Miltank (which would be renamed Pokémon: Generation I - Gastly to Tauros) to Pokémon: Generation II - Qwilfish to Celebi. Also, what about the "general" folders on Pokémon Villain Teams, Pokémon Elite Four, Pokémon Champions, etc.?

Moving to Characters.Pokemon Generation I Magikarp To Dragonite is fine with me (and I've updated the header to reflect it), but I think Milktank and Tauros should be kept separate since they were introduced in different generations and that's how we organize except for when the pokemon are directly related by evolution.

Ah, I see. In that case, yes I support moving Miltank.

For the general folders, I don't think we'd be losing much by deleting them. Most of the entries are either too generic or lacking in context to be able to be moved (ex, "many villain teams have loud outfits" or "many champions are friendly towards the player"), and the ones that don't are usually already listed on either the game's main page or in the individual character folders of the person it applies to.
