Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

Honestly, several of the "Major characters" on that page aren't really that major at all. Lisbeth appears for one episode and a tiny cameo in another. Silica appears for one episode. Recon.. wasn't even a main cast member in the source material let alone here.
Agil has a few episodes here and there but wouldn't call him main cast. Yui had one episode in Season 1 and then a supporting role in Season 2. Only Klein is somewhat notable as a reccurer.
Looks like someone was trying to duplicate the main series page and prematurely put them there together before they gained any prominence.
Aside from the three who have pages right now, the rest could get moved back to the "Introduced in Season 1/2 .etc" pages, while the three who have pages can get merged back into Major Characters.
Alternatively, maybe just leave Klein and Yui there, while the rest of them get moved back. Or put everyone else on a "Supporting Characters" page and have the main three go back onto the Major Characters page.
For Kayaba and Sugou, maybe make a "Villains/Antagonists" page, where we could also kick several of the bad guys from Sword Art Online Abridged - Season One Characters over like Laughing Coffin, the Mafia's Cat, and the King of Ashes.

Have Sakura and Dark Sakura together in the same folder and mark it "— Untagged Spoilers"?

In that case it'd be better to leave Sakura's page alone and in the merges I described here, do it with Rin instead. Though that would leave 4 CSP (Shirou, Sakura, Saber and Gilgamesh) and I feel there could be more reorganization to reduce them further.

Your suggestions are good, but is Supporting Characters page required? I could add it if Introduced in Season 1 exceeds 250k bytes by re adding the others.
It's only if the size limit is exceeded. If they all fit just fine, we won't need to create that page.

Someone made pages for these characters from Miraculous Ladybug:
- Alya Césaire/Rena Rouge (21,000)
- Kagami Tsurugi/Ryuko (35,000)
- Luka Couffaine/Viperion (21,000)
None of them even reached the minimum requirement aside from their origin page being too big.
I think it would be much easier to simply split Team Miraculous into a separate page, which will be around 175000 characters if these three are added. There is also the possibility that Felix's page (48,000 characters) can be added to Team Miraculous, which still leave sit below 250,000
Also Marinette's and Adrien's pages are around 70,000, it's also safe to merge these two into Paris's Champions.
If this is done, the remaining Heroes page will be around 80,000 to 100,000.
Any suggestions? Or is this okay?

For Characters.Sword Art Online Abridged, Sword Art Online Abridged - Major Characters (89,825 bytes) has the following pages:
- Sword Art Online Abridged - Kirito (79,214 bytes)
- Sword Art Online Abridged - Asuna (50,036 bytes)
- Sword Art Online Abridged - Leafa (58,092 bytes)
Merging Asuna and Leafa will make the page less than 200k bytes, so Kirito can keep his page.- Sword Art Online Abridged - Season One Characters (213,242 bytes)
- Sword Art Online Abridged - Kayaba (71,210 bytes)
Kayaba could keep his page, as the page would otherwise exceed 250k.- Sword Art Online Abridged - Season Two Characters (101,545 bytes)
- Sword Art Online Abridged - Oberon (42,534 bytes)
Sugou could be merged back.Should I go ahead with the proposed merges?
