Lighter build than most big cats and less solid muscle. Not built for a brawl in that sense and, as pursuit predators, very risk averse. Any wound may stop them hunting at speed.
How genuinely fragile they are is another question - my understanding was they just can't afford to fight prey because they don't have the jaw/claw power of a leopard and they're so reliant on keeping peak performance and speed. So they'll hunt far smaller animals than you'd expect.
"Can't fight tough prey because they can't afford to sustain even a slight injury" sounds like the relevant definition of "fragile".
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable- DreamWorks Animation thought in the early 2010s that doing sentimental films à la Disney (totally inverting the studio's previous formula) would be a good idea. Due to some negative receptions from audiences, they snapped out of it and brought comedy back on the front (although far less gag-based than before).
...what? I don't remember Megamind being sentimental. It has the typical humor of a Dreamworks movie and it's widely loved by audiences. Same with Kung Fu Panda 2 and Madagascar 3. The ONLY film I can think of that fits this description is Rise of the Guardians, and even though it flopped at the box office, people still liked it.
We are the best friends, we stand as one. Whatever life may bring, we are never alone. The fact that not A SINGLE MOVIE is actually mentioned and if I got it correctly that period WAS SUCCESSFUL. How To Train Your Dragon was a sweet and heartfelt movie (Which isnt like Disney at all but the Troper seems to think so.) that was a MASSIVE success for Dreamworks and their start of a great trend of films.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Is it calling Megamind sentimental, or is it saying that it was popular because they broke away from it? I know Dreamworks had some pretty sentimental movies before becoming the edgier animation studio; Prince of Egypt and Spirit come to mind. But neither of those were from the 2010s.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMegamind came out in 2010, so if they're arguing it broke a 2010s trend, that wouldn't quite make sense. I also don't think their more recent movies are any less sentimental; if anything, the issue was their mid to late 2010s movies being more kiddy.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah, if this was referring to something like Trolls or The Boss Baby, then maybe it would count, but as is, the example is a ZCE.
I have NEVER seen ANYONE refer to those as "sentimental". This entry is a bunch of baloney.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I have no idea if this belongs here or if anyone here knows anything about Kill la Kill but it's worth a shot.
- Sacred Cow: Satsuki and the Elite Four, specifically their status as good guys. Huge portions of the fanbase will angrily write off anyone who tries to argue that some of their actions in the beginning were not performed in good sense, and that they still have a lot of past crimes to answer for. This is touched on in the OVA by Hououmaru, making this Ascended Fanon, with the final word on the matter being that the Elite Four were bad in the past and still must continue answering for their crimes, though on that same token they shouldn't be judged solely by their pasts and instead have the merits of their present selves acknowledged.
I don't really engage with the KLK fandom too often, I mostly just talk about it with my friends, so I'm really curious about the validity of this entry. I don't know if this is still a whole thing, something that used to be an entire thing but doesn't happen too often anymore, or something entirely made up by one guy basing their experience off an individual discussion they had. Is this still an entire thing?

Guns and steel, that's what I am!Trivia/HotelTransylvania mentions twice the fact of Miley Cyrus originally being cast to voice Mavis, but the examples mention two completely different reasons, with neither one having a source. Which one is true?
- The Other Marty:
- Miley Cyrus was originally cast to voice Mavis, but she left the project to concentrate on her music, and was replaced with Selena Gomez.
- What Could Have Been:
- Miley Cyrus was originally cast as Mavis but was fired after buying Liam Hemsworth a lewd birthday cake and posting it online.
According to this, the first was the reason Miley originally gave, but the second is what she tweeted about.
(Annoyed grunt)Just added to YMMV.Classical Mythology under Common Knowledge:
- Everyone "knows" that, according to the myths, winter is the result of Demeter being too sad to fulfill her agricultural duties while Persephone is down in the underworld with Hades. Actually, considering the Greek climate, it's more likely that Persephone is in the underworld during the summer, when plant life is threatened by the hot, dry weather.
Do historians take this hypothesis seriously? I was under the impression that it was, at the very least, highly controversial.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Found on Trivia. The Fragile 1999
- What Could Have Been: Evidently, the "Ocean pulls me close" part of "The Great Below" was originally intended to be sung by a female vocalist.
This seems like speculation more than anything.
"Evidently" and then doesn't actually give said evidence. Speculative Troping — cut.
"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Indentation cleanup)These are on Trivia.Sponge Bob Square Pants under Banned Episode:
- "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve" was banned from airing in some countries overseas due to its Ho Yay plot of Spongebob and Patrick becoming parents of a baby Scallop.
- Similar to the above example, "Fry Cook Games" was banned in certain countries due to the ending of Patrick and Spongebob holding hands as some countries see that as "promoting homosexuality".
While plenty of Ho Yay has been observed about Spongebob and Patrick, I question if either of these are actually true. The latter is mentioned on the fan wiki but lacks a citation, and the former isn't mentioned at all. Neither seem to be mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia. Cut?
back lolI know Rock-a-Bye Bivalve has always been a controversial episode, but I haven't heard about The Fry Cook Games undergoing a similar controversy until now.
YMMV.Evoland mentions DRM but GOG version says DRM free and Steam doesn't say anything about DRM?

Jay Two Point Oh [Shiro] 18 Jan, 2021 @ 9:12am Hey Guys,
Apologies all, the always online requirements were unintentional and were patched out shortly after this update when the first reports started coming in.
Are you guys still unable to play this offline? We're having no issues doing so on our end at, but it may be due to a variation in versions. Let me know!

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I remember seeing an item on Russell Howard's Good News about Ukraine specifically banning SpongeBob in general for "promoting homosexuality", and something about SpongeBob and Patrick holding hands did crop up when I investigated it further, but I don't remember the specific episode.

"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Indentation cleanup)This has been on the character page for Egyptian Mythology page for a while now under Nephthys' tab:
This was added on Trivia.Persona 3 Reload
- Executive Meddling: If this Twitter thread is to be believed, according to one of the original English voice actors from Persona 3, the decision to invoke The Other Darrin for the English cast of Reload was made not by Atlus, but by parent company Sega, who wanted to “bring in younger/fresher talent”. And the original cast were only informed of this decision via phone call.
I feel like this entry is suspect because I feel like one social media post/thread isn’t enough context. Can anyone look into it?
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/AFilm.Caligula says the film's depiction of Tiberius as a pedophile is false:
- Artistic License – History: The film is often mistakenly lauded to be "historically accurate," but that is far from the truth. Bob Guccione's mangling actually led to some events being presented in an order that would have been chronologically impossible.
- Notably, much of the film is based on the work of Suetonius, a late first-century "historian" notorious for emphasizing the most salacious details of the lives of rich and powerful Romans, and in many cases probably just making stuff up for the sake of sales; Suetonius is alone, for instance, in describing the historical Tiberius as a pedophile. Tellingly, he disappears from the historical record around the same time he was alleged to have had an affair with Emperor Hadrian's wife...
- Aluminum Christmas Trees: Despite the liberal use of Hollywood History, some of the weirder elements of the movie have a basis in history.
- The scene where Tiberius refers to the sex slaves in his bath as his "little fishies". Most viewers would think it's just another one of those over-the-top sexploitation scenes put in to shock audiences. In fact, the historian Suetonious wrote that Tiberius did indeed have "minnows" and they were mostly little boys. So this is one case where the movie actually toned it down from the real thing.
Edited by Diesel on Feb 1st 2024 at 12:59:12 PM
It's probably closer to the former, by my understanding. Suetonius is known for including lurid sensationalism, based on comparing The Twelve Caesars to other Roman histories, which is why it's a problem that it's the only extant primary source on the reign of Caligula. There are some alternate sources on Tiberius, though, and I'm not enough of an amateur historiographer to really compare them but it doesn't sound like any of the others make that claim. (Including Tacitus, who had a similarly low opinion of Tiberius and is generally considered more credible.)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI found this on Main.Disowned Adaptation:
- Naoko Takeuchi eventually became dissatisfied with The '90s anime adaptation of Sailor Moon due to Toei Animation changing some elements of her original stories. She was especially displeased with how the Sailor Starlights, who were only minor characters in the manga, were given major roles, along with them being turned from women who cross-dressed as men into Sex Shifters since she believed it undermined her rule that only women can be Sailor Guardians. She was also disappointed that Sailor Cosmos and the Sailor Guardians' final uniforms were Adapted Out.
Thoughts on what to do here?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I want to add this to And You Thought It Would Fail.
- When Pokémon: The Series was to jump from syndication to a more permanent sole home, 4Kids went to Fox to sell the show to them, but they declined. This led to Kids WB grabbing it and proceed to create a near uninterrupted ratings domination. Dont fell bad for Fox Kids though, learning from that mistake, they picked up the rival franchise Anime/Digimon, which was also a smash hit.

Well, cheetahs are fragile at least in the sense that they have very low stamina. They aren’t able to sustain their famous speed over any significant distance.
