Okay, got to Volume 2.

So, definitely picking up a little bit with lots of funny one-off chapters to develop some of the cast (I like that Shinzo, Shion, and Kengo have gotten some more focus now), and I'm liking some of the comedy. I think the biggest moment here was introducing Ayaka lol. There's so many panels of her looking completely fucking pathetic and unhinged, it's great. But yeah, it's still needing a bit to finally hit that sweet spot of being fucking great. It hasn't quite gotten there yet.

I watched the first episode of the anime and it was ok. The voice acting was great, but visually it doesn't stand out, and I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but the series feels like I'm watching an older anime instead of a brend new one.

Anyways, I still enjoyed my time, and look forward to watching more episodes.

Also, apparently this series will have 27 episodes in season one, which is a rather odd number.

Double posting to mention how episode 2 of the anime showcases better the series with the action and comedy included, which makes me now more hopeful than I felt after episode 1.

Also, I have seen some debate about the opening, and, yeah, it's not very flattering, since it feels most part simple and some of the 3d used sticks out, I can understand why some might dislike it. In comparison, the pixel art used in the outro looks neat, and I like it (as you can see in the image below).

I was going to see it, but it turns out it's on Hulu, and I'm already shelling out for multiple streaming sites.

In the latest chapter Asa contacts the Yozakura family and reveals why he wants the twins dead.

For whatever reason he believes that the twins will end up destroying the Yozakura family. Which of course means he won't be able to harvest them.

(Endgame spoilers) I think Asa's vagueness is really hurting his ability to be an effective antagonist, since his motivation is so comparatively weak and his character nondescript compared to how larger-than-life the rest of the cast is.

The nondescriptness seems deliberate. He's supposed to come off as eerily "normal" even while he describes his plans to harvest the Yozakura family to make medicine.

And his plans aren't really vague. Quite the opposite. He's always been quite upfront about reducing the Yozakuras to Human Resources. Asa is that confident that the family can't stop him. To Asa, the Yozakuras aren't a threat. They aren't even people to him. They're just more ingredients to collect.

[up][up] & [up] Sorry to annoy you, but could you please spoiler your previous posts so people who join this thread by watching the anime don't see endgame spoilers. Thank you.

To mention something positive, I liked how episode 3 of the anime expanded on the respective manga chapter, since they decided to include small scens that better show the rest of the Yozakura siblings early on. For example, the fridge went from a single panel, to showing how Shion and Futaba deal with the trap in their own way. This made this 3rd episode my favourite so far, and gave me hope for what is to come.

...And I still can't watch it, because it's on Hulu.

Incidentally, here's a related video about how Disney just lets its anime offerings wither on the vine with no promotion whatsoever, because they only care about the Japanese market for anime and don't give a crap about the West;

And Disney's not in a position to be turning down revenue.
