I don’t hate phantoms, the wandering trader nor «G.I.N.O»
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Another opera moment, this time concerning character tenors. Just saw Mime from The Ring of the Nibelung on the Scrappy page. Weeeell... (deep breaths)
Mime is my (close) second favourite character of the Ring, after Fasolt. In Das Rheingold, it is absolutely heart-wrenching to see him bullied and beaten by Alberich and then recalling the former happiness of Nibelheim. Yes, he adopts baby Siegfried with the purpose of setting him on Fafner (which was Wotan's plan anyway), but he treats him decently: not only provides him with food and clothes, but also teaches him and makes gifts for him (such as the famous horn). All he receives in turn is more humiliation and taunts, Siegfried even sets a bear on him just for the lulz! I mean, compare Siegfried with loads of other characters, from Cinderella to Harry Potter, who were treated way worse by their relatives or adoptive families and yet treated them way better. Okay, back to Mime: he is bullied even more and threatened with death by Wotan and yes, then he snaps and decides to kill Siegfried, but after what he has been through? I can only feel dreadfully sorry for him.
(As for Wagner's anti-Semitic beliefs that may or may not be embodied in Mime, I never suspected it until I read about it. I don't know, but I never thought Mime or anyone in the cycle embodied an ethnic stereotype of any kind).
I kinda feel sorry for Flash Sentry. He's a bit like the wandering trader, people are getting upset for a minor annoyance.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”I... actually kind of liked the new characters introduced in Soul Calibur V. Yes, even Patroklos. I just wish they were developed better and that the game wasn't so rushed.
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fate/Samurai RemnantMeesa unironically (well a little bit ironically) love Jar Jar Binks.
I liked Nowi in Fire Emblem: Awakening, I found her bubbliness endearing.
I've never really understood the vitriol toward Slippy Toad. To me, he never really seemed that much worse than the other two main sidekicks in Star Fox 64.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?Because Falco and Peppy are both memey as hell for different reasons.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.I think I said this before. But I maintain that Cholie Carmichael would have been a good charter if they added her before Sparky and Poof.
Give me one good reason to hate Flash Sentry. ONE!
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Back when I read Dumbing of Age, I... never really understood why people disliked Danny so much.
Peering at the forum thread, he's apparently taken some levels in asshole since, but back at the start, I felt like some readers were unnecessarily harsh towards him and did stuff like call him stupid and selfish for not knowing stuff he couldn't possibly have known, nevermind the fact that other characters acted 100 times more assholish and were not treated nearly as harshly as he was. Sure, I guess he could be a bit clingy, but it was also shown that his parents were, or at least appeared to be, emotionally abusive and considered him a total failure of a person and completely useless, meaning that all of his self-worth is tied to whoever he's dating on their endnote . Is it any wonder that anybody would become a wee bit desperate after being treated like that?
There's also a scene where Billie basically jumps him and he ultimately declines because he's not sure if she actually wants sex... and he's treated as in the wrong for doing so because rejecting her apparently meant he thought he knew what the girl wanted better than she because she wasn't upset or something like that. That always rubbed me the wrong way.
I dunno, I guess he just came across as Unintentionally Sympathetic to me.

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.I read A Song of Ice and Fire as a teenage girl and boy was I unprepared for all the Sansa Stark hatred online.
She definitely has character flaws and makes major mistakes, but what character doesn't? A lot of it reads like Real Women Never Wear Dresses-thinking and "omg teenage girl dumb" mentality.
To a lesser extent a lot of people really hate Catelyn (to the point that Game of Thrones majorly sidelined her), when I thought it was interesting that the hero's mother is the POV, not the hero himself.
I actually like Bubba the Cave Duck in DuckTales (1987).
I didn't mind him either, but it's funny that he has a better vocabulary than the better one of the reboot.
As a kid, I always liked live action music videos in Soviet Treasure Island.

Shin Megami Tensei cites Ichiko Ohya from Persona 5, but other than the fact that her ability is pretty useless (which falls moreso under Tier Induced Scrappy), I find her to be a likable enough character with a fun dynamic with Lala-Chan.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?I actually really like the Vanillite line from Pokémon. I think they’re cute.
I also like Pansear and (to a lesser extent) Simisear, even though the latter got voted the least popular Pokémon.
I didn’t really mind Katie Kaboom from Animaniacs either, even if her shorts were repetitive.

He/they | Mostly here on my free daysI am 100% with you on the Vanillite line. I love Ice types, and I think they're cute too.
He may be a giant, nightmarish brute, but like all villains in this series,he sure can sing. The Vanillite line is great and i love them, same with Klefki
shouldn't his favorite genre be RPG and not point and click thoughAll Pokémon designs grow on me eventually. Once new characters are sitting in the same room as established characters, I become attached to them. Vanilluxe got a massive boost this generation with Aurora Viel. Sadly, it's a tier induced scrappy in both official and unofficial formats.

The Vanillite and Trubbish lines are some of my favorites actually.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Count me in as someone else who unironically likes the Vanillite line. Ditto the Trubbish line and Klefki.
"Hey, gimme a minute to get to know everyone, 'kay, Brainy?" "Of course, but please allow me to get a word in, too, bzz."I thought Delphine in Skyrim wasn't all that bad. I mean, if I had seen all my friends and companions die, then the one person who could save the world wanted me to hold their hand, I would be pretty cranky too.
Don't make me call daddy CthulhuI liked Delphine just fine until she met the dragon who'd spent centuries seeking to change and atone for his 'inherently evil' nature and went :ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE DRAGON MUST DIE:
:/
I don't get all that vitriol directed at Don Ottavio. He is an active character who does useful stuff (taking part in the manhunt for Don Giovanni), which is more than can be said for many tenors. He isn't an idiot (okay, he trusts Don Giovanni and at one point mistakes Leporello for him, but he isn't the only one making these mistakes).
And he treats his Love Interest really well, which is quite a rarity. In a situation like his, many tenor heroes like Foresto or Rodolfo would most probably go: "Waaaah, you totally cheated on me with Don Giovanni and are totally still doing so! Woe is meee!" Ottavio, however, trusts and respects Donna Anna absolutely, and their scenes together are incredibly sweet. And this aria of his is for me one of the biggest CMOHs in opera.
