While I'm not a fan of what the Eagles did after Hotel California, albums like Desperado are pretty fantastic, and they definitely helped lead the yacht rock and country rock genres in the mainstream well.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"They got a really big comeback with Hell Freezes Over, and I do actually like some of their tracks on Long Road Out of Eden.
Also, I like Don Henley as a solo artist. He's one of the defining artists of The '80s in my opinion.

I really love the version of Hotel California they did on Hell Freezes Over. All the guitar just sounds lovely.
Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.I did create an article for Hotel California, if that's any consolation.
she/her/they | wall | sandbox"Hotel California" is one of those songs that I think is very much overplayed on the radio... yet I can't help but really get into the song whenever it's on.
I also like songs that are open to interpretations and create visuals in your mind. This song reeks of Nightmare Fuel (despite the rather mundane explanation the group gave).
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationStarted getting into Eagles recently. Their debut album is full of nice laid-back rock'n'roll. I especially like "Take It Easy", "Witchy Woman" and "Nightingale". I also recommend Joe Walsh's solo career, the debut is neat.
Nonsense is better than no sense at all.Eagles has been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid (they were one of the very few country/rock blend bands that our local country station would play). I maintain that Hell Freezes Over is one of the best live albums of all time.
Kind of surprised no one's created a thread for The Eagles, so I'm doing so.
The Eagles have one of the strongest legacies in rock history. Starting off as a country rock band, they went to a lot of success in the 70's, but broke up. Some of the members then had strong solo careers (most notably Don Henley), and then Hell froze over and they reunited in 1994.
I'm open to discussing each member's individual careers, but I may create a thread for Henley alone.
