For a list of bad laconics, see Sandbox.Pages Needing Better Laconics.
For generally accepted guidelines for laconics, see Sandbox.Laconic Wiki Template.
Today I found out an interesting fact from troper Ironeye:
Don't ever make the mistake of using the Laconic version as the canonical trope meaning—the laconics are often written by people who don't actually understand the drop. In this case, the laconic only corresponds to one possible cause of Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy.
The Laconic Description for DIAA states as follows:
The thing is, these descriptions are supposed to make it easier to understand what the page is about. If they can't be accurate as well as short and sweet, then there's a problem.
So for starters, what would be a better description for DIAA?

Apparently Ridiculously Average Guy subtly manipulates his classmates, so that it does not occur to anyone to limit his freedom.
- Visit the unabridged version HERE.
Too focused on describing Ayanokoji (which is not good imo, since his personality varies depending on the medium) and not on a school itself. My version to consider:
A guy hiding his brilliance joins Absurdly Divided School, manipulating people in the process.
- We'll reach A Class together HERE.

Stockholm Syndrome: The Game.
Recycled In Space. My version:

Given recent discussions, it seems to not matter the gender of the man that's pregnant.
Does "A pregnant man." feel too short to anyone else? If it's that simple, then why have Laconic instead of just making it the first sentence of the description?
Goodnight!
EDIT, although, that's what it was ~2 years ago

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I think "A pregnant man" is fine. It's descriptive, and I don't think "too short" is an issue with laconics if it's descriptive. Plus there's Bizarre Alien Biology examples listed and I'm not sure if I'd technically count all of them as "cisgender" as not every species has that sort of binary.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Agree.
That said, maybe "a pregnant male" would be even better, since there are non-human examples.
Nineteen Eighty-Four: The Sex Comedy!
I see Shimoneta was added to the list of laconics, so here's my version:
In a World… where Political Overcorrectness conquered Japan, a boy is blackmailed into La Résistance to fight the censorship.

That's better but it's missing the fact that the work is very Ecchi and that the protagonist is fighting for it.
Ok, i'll add it
In a World… where Political Overcorrectness conquered Japan, a boy is blackmailed into La Résistance to fight the censorship in a distinguishing way.
Go add it. And these sentences inspired me for a laconic of Nukitashi:
In an island where getting it on everywhere is mandatory, a virgin founds La Résistance against the perverted law.

The Book of Lord Shang breaks policy by applying a morality trope to a real life philosophical text. It currently reads:

The replacement already looks better, if convoluted for a laconic.
Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete!"Ancient text promoting punishment-based legal system"?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576That sounds good.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Neither explain the anime that well, but the first one is better. I've always had a bone to pick with laconics that are just "[trope]: the movie/show/game".
Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete!Yeah, the second can go at the very least.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300How about something like "Wacky harem romcom about a boy destined to have 100 soulmates"?
That's pretty similar to what the original laconic was. Definitely a good replacement.
Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete!
dump, realized it was missed

I think so? Can't think of anything that would disqualify it atm.

Is this laconic good enough?
