This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking For An Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

x7: Agree on changing DisproportionateRetribution.TheSimpsons quote
I think the current quote on Speaks Fluent Animal would fit better on Invisible to Normals. We already know that everyone else hears the animals making realistic animal noises when Dr. Dolittle hears them talking but up until the owl says that line, we don't know whether it's because of Translation Convention or Invisible to Normals.
Is there an issue, though, with the current Invisible to Normals quote? I think it fits well, even better than the Dr. Doolittle quote.

Call the crowner? It's been like 10 days, and Barnslake has a sizable majority.
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsAye,
Sherlock Holmes: You tried to kill me.
The Barnslake Killer: Yes, I did. A pity it didn't come off. It would have been a marvellous feather in my cap. All the same, I might still get that feather.
is in and tagged on the page.
I think the quote on Twofer Token Minority contributes to misuse; the trope's not supposed to be about any character who fits into two 'minority' demographics, but one who is written to be a token.
Potential replacements from the trope page that somewhat indicate the 'DEI box-checking' nature of the trope:
To the second one.
to the second token quote.
Once again bumping this issue with an Evangelion page from two weeks ago.

Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete! To the second Token quote in my eyes.
I don't want to brag or anything but when it comes to being the worst, I'm always at the top!Jumping on the second quote bandwagon
the second Twofer Token Minority quote suggestion.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadto the second Twofer Token quote.
So the quote for Kathryn Hahn is a reference to her WandaVision:
However, the caption is already a reference to that role and I feel like it is unnecessary to have both reference that. So, suggestion from this interview:

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI prefer a quote to an in-joke, so feel free to swap it out.
Sorry if this is being pushy, but is my suggestion in #12493 good?

About eight months ago, the quote for UsefulNotes.Iran Iraq War was unilaterally changed. I don't think anyone noticed until now because it's a UN most people don't know about.
The original quote was unsourced, and a Reddit discussion way back in the day was unable to find the source, so this is a weird situation all around.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.No problem with getting rid of an unsourced, possibly made-up quote.
Speaking of unsourced quotes, which episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the quote on Language Barrier from?
I'm salvaging these quotes from Why We Cant Have Nice Things because it has been renamed to Someone Ruins It for Everyone and had its definition adjusted to "One person's actions causes a ban/confiscation that ruins the thing for others". None of these fit now.
Current quote on Leonine Contract:
"I, being older, perhaps believe in it even more," answered M. Louis smiling. "But surely it is a very old principle of law that a leonine contract is not a free contract. And it is hypocrisy to pretend that a bargain between a starving man and a man with all the food is anything but a leonine contract." He glanced up at the fire-escape, a ladder leading up to the balcony of a very high attic above. "I live in that garret; or rather on that balcony. If I fell off the balcony and hung on a spike, so far from the steps that somebody with a ladder could offer to rescue me if I gave him a hundred million francs, I should be quite morally justified in using his ladder and then telling him to go to hell for his hundred million. Hell, indeed, is not out of the picture; for it is a sin of injustice to force an advantage against the desperate."
Proposing a trimmed version:
Welcome to Wrexham currently has:
Quote:
Stinger:
The new season trailer now gives us this line:
I think that's worth swapping out for the main page quote. Do people agree?
If so, do we keep the stinger as is, or replace it with the current page quote?(I've got a weak preference to leave it as is)
The first quote on Quotes.Experienced Protagonist, aside from not being italicised, doesn't seem to illustrate the trope, it's more about conservation of detail or pacing in general.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Swapped trimmed quote into Leonine Contract.
Good with the quote swap, and keeping the current stinger.
I agree.
Well it doesn't have to be an insult specifically, but the backfire has to involve a third party that supposedly don't know the language the other characters are talking when they actually do.
