  • Awesome Music: And how! The film includes music from giants of the counter-culture like Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead which really helps to sell the film's message. Special mention goes to the usage of "Careful with that Axe Eugene" from the former in the climax.
    • Folkloric American Primitive guitarist John Fahey was asked to provide music for the love scene. Fahey flew to Rome for the recording session, but got fed up with the "orgies" and Antonioni's attitude, especially his anti-Americanism, and ended up punching his lights out.
    • The film even includes retroactive awesome music! A discarded song intended for the opening riot scene later became Us and Them from the 100% awesome The Dark Side of the Moon.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Mark Frechette ended up dead in prison three years after the movie's release. Convinced by the Mel Lyman Family cult — and perhaps by the fact that he'd been one of Pedophile Priest Father Laurence Brett's specially chosen victims known as the "Maverick" boys — that pain, anger and violence are the only true and patriotic reality, Frechette and two friends believed the most "real" thing they could do was to hold up a bank. "The government is the banks and the real criminals work in banks, and banks deserve to be robbed." They hoped to counteract "everything that is choking this country to death" — and they chose the bank where the Lyman Family's money was invested. Frechette's friend Hercules Thein was killed by police. Frechette surrendered, his gun hadn't been loaded, and he got a light sentence to a minimum security facility. Six months later he was asphyxiated by a 150-pound weight bar he'd apparently been trying to bench press. Daria Halprin was also in the Lyman cult, but escaped and later married Dennis Hopper.
