- Fandom Rivalry: Between Kajiura fans and Yoko Kanno fans, battles can get mean. Nevertheless both sides have appreciators for both women and they also share common singers like Emily Bindiger (in numerous projects with Kajiura but also in Cowboy Bebop with Kanno) and Aimer (with Kanno in Terror in Resonance and with Kajiura in Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel and Demon Slayer).
- Funny Moments: 'In your eyes' can be read as an asexual in a romantic relationship with a non-asexual convincing him to not insist on conventional sexual activity by dominating him. She also spends almost the entire song apologising. Even if you don't read it this way (Wakana appears not to), it remains a deliberate lyrical Cliché Storm that Kajiura may or may not have written as a joke.
- Narm Charm! Does a fine trade in it. As gigguk notes in his review of Sword Art Online, the soundtrack is still amazing "even if the choir sounds like they're singing about gaming snacks."
- Suspiciously Similar Song: Probably the thing that people criticize her more for. A significant amount of people think that a big chunk, if not most of her work, feels to be repeated over and over with not enough things to distinguish her multiple works from one another.
