• Alternate Character Interpretation: Melvin's claim that Marik made him up to give him "all the hugs he'd ever want", when juxtaposed with his tendency to use "hug" as a Deadly Euphemism has led many to wonder if this means Marik was Driven to Suicide at the time of Melvin's creation. It'd be shockingly dark for such a lighthearted show (especially because this particular moment is conspicuously not played for laughs...until Hank starts singing, of course), but also wouldn't be entirely unfitting to what Marik had gone through up to that point.
