• Vindicated by History: While his work was almost unknown outside Japan until the early 2000s and is obscure in Japan itself, his work received a renaissance since Drawn and Quartely rediscovered his short stories and published them in the English-speaking world. He is now considered one of the most important and influential manga artists of all time.
