YMMV / WowCraft

Go To

  • Heartwarming Moments: The "From WoW to FF14" video ends with Ex-WoW players finally being able to move on from what WoW once was and start playing an MMO that they can genuinely be able to enjoy. That seriously is the one thing that made the series end not in a downer note, but a more bittersweet one.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Episode 28, 'Eversong Woods' is animated completely in sepia tones, has no sound other than its eerie music, and is about how the "guards" of the quest boss just stand around smiling creepily at the Blood Elf while he/she murders them with fire. It is genuinely disturbing, and the Blood Elf isn't the only one freaked out by the end.
    • Episode 26 'Draenei Beginnings' is also kind of creepy at the end, as the camera cuts to a close-up of the gormlessly smiling male Draenei quest giver after he's shooed the female Draenei PC on with her adventure, completely ignoring the field of moaning, suffering, agonised Draenei behind him, because her quest was to revive only one incapacitated Draenei.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • 'This is World of WarCraft' is unquestionably the single most depressing thing Carbot has ever animated, tracking the WoW career of a player who was in there at the start in 2004 through all the dozens of expansions, watching the game slowly degrade from an exciting, friendly and active community of people all working together to have fun, to an empty, soulless, disconnected and wallet-sucking grind. Even the initial thrill of WoW Classic only gets replaced by the dreaded feeling of Oh, No... Not Again! when Burning Crusade Classic appears, leading the poor depressed player to finally quit after 17 years... (To further emphasize this, the video does not even begin with "I'm being repressed!" or his signature car horn ('Honk-honk!'))
    • Let's just say that Carbot himself is not pleased with the direction Blizzard is going. As a result, despite having the signature opening, the "From WoW to FF14" video can count as a pseudo sequel that was equally as sad. As some old MMO players who stuck with WoW couldn't take it anymore, they boarded a single refugee ship, where each of them, from Alliance and Horde players, look absolutely miserable. When they could see the gates to Final Fantasy XIV, they start looking aside at how beautiful and lively the world of Final Fantasy is, and compared to them, their "World of Wowcraft" is either empty, on fire or filled with bots that broke after endless works. True, the refugees may find happiness in the new world of Final Fantasy, but overall it just painted how bleak the World of Warcraft has become.
