• Awesome Music: Nearly all of it.
• Epic Riff: Many of them. "Astral Blood" contains several excellent examples, as does "Vastness and Sorrow".
• Growing the Beard: While Diadem of 12 Stars is a solid debut, Two Hunters is generally considered the best album in the band's Cascadian trilogy, if not the band's best album in general.
• It's Popular, Now It Sucks!: Being a Black Metal band, a section of the genre’s fandom naturally holds this opinion. The same phenomenon happens to pretty much any black metal band that attracts significant critical attention.
• Signature Song: "Vastness and Sorrow" or "Face in a Nighttime Mirror".
• Suspiciously Similar Riff: One of the riffs about midway through "Queen of the Borrowed Light" (you can hear it at about 5:30 into the song) is basically identical to one of the riffs from Burzum's "Det som en gang var" (go to about 12:00 in the song to hear it). Given that the band members have expressed admiration for Burzum's black metal output (although decidedly not for Varg Vikernes), this was probably a conscious nod.
• Tear Jerker: "Cleansing", a Surprisingly Gentle Song driven by Jessica Kenney's ethereal vocals, especially in its context as a Breather Episode on Two Hunters.
  • The ending of "I Will Lay Down My Bones Among the Rocks and Roots", especially driven by the aforementioned Jessica Kenney's vocals of "the world will be born anew", after a believed Apocalypse How.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Celestite drew criticism for its drastic departure from the band's normal sound, being a completely ambient record with no black metal elements.
• Win Back the Crowd: After the polarizing reaction to Celestite, the first song from Thrice Woven has been warmly received by fans as a return to form.
