YMMV / Wolverine (1988)

• Audience-Alienating Era: Before the Onslaught Saga, after being captured by the villain Genesis and undergoing a failed attempt to re-bond adamantium to his skeleton, Logan regressed into a more feral, animalistic state... and seemingly lost his nose in the process. Wolverine stays noseless and feral in his own book from #100 to #104, and this transformation is not even acknowledged in the main X-books (save for a makeshift outfit).
• Nightmare Fuel: The full-page shot◊ of Logan in issue #75, just after he's popped his (now-revealed) bone claws for the first time. He's on his knees holding his arms up and screaming in agony as blood pours down his arms from the punctures from the claws and the X-Men are scrambling to get to him to administer first aid.
• Tear Jerker: At the end of issue #75, Logan decides to leave the X-Men for a while to figure out how he's going to approach life without his Healing Factor. He slips into Jubilee's bedroom and leaves her his hat and a note before departing the mansion. As he's firing up his motorcycle, he takes one last look back and sees Jubilee standing at the window wearing his hat and tearfully waving to him. He gives her a wave, and rides away.
