YMMV / Wolf Warrior

Go To

  • Awesome Moments:
    • Leng Feng can't snipe the drug lord holding a hostage so he snipes a concrete block next to his head, driving debris into the drug lord's skull.
    • During a training exercise, Leng Feng's unit is attacked by wolves and fight them off using nothing but bayonets, flares, and other improvised weapons.
    • The unit is pinned down. Their commander is wounded and a sniper is using him as bait, killing any soldiers that try to rescue him. The commander orders his men to kill him, but instead the unit shoots down a tree, giving Leng Feng enough cover to rescue him.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Leng Feng is transported to his meeting place with the Wolf Warriors by dangling out of a helicopter for some reason. He clearly enjoys it and does several funny poses in the air.
    • When Leng Feng first meets the Wolves, a tank drives right up to him and sticks its cannon in his face, represented by an Iris Out.
    • Yu Fei asks the Wolves why they get to be in the unit.
Wolves: Because we are the fucking best!
Yu Fei: Tell this guy what the motto of our detachment is.
      Wolves: "Be humble!"
    • The Wolf Warriors trick Leng Feng into making some lewd remarks about their female commander. He doesn't realize she's listening and she punishes him with a burst of feedback into his earpiece.
    • Leng Feng flips off the sniper trying to kill him in Scope Perspective.
    • One soldier's reaction to getting in a knife fight with a Giant Mook and finding out he has a giant kukri. "Shit."
    • After surviving the land mine, Leng Feng asks Commander Long if she has a boyfriend. She tries to answer "No" quietly. When Leng Feng can't hear, another officer says "No" for her. Mission control hears and bursts into laughter.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Leng Feng gifts the medal he received to his father who killed his commanding officer during a mission, recognizing the pain and guilt he must have felt.
  • Narm: While Feng dodging the enemy snipers attacks as he charges towards him is clearly supposed to be impressive it immediately falls into this territory when the viewer sees that Feng and the sniper... are only a few dozen feet apart from each other at best. Making one wonder why the mook is using his sniper rifle for an enemy who is so close to him.
  • Special Effect Failure:
    • A bullet fired in the opening scene is clearly CGI.
    • The wolves that attack the Wolf Warriors are also very fake-looking.
