- Alternative Character Interpretation: Assuming the Woman on the Bike is in some way linked to the assassinations, her re-appearance at the end could be interpreted as a subtle warning to Nick from Cerruti, as a way of saying "I'm still watching you."
- Harsher in Hindsight: The film has 33 Thomas Street (aka the AT&T Long Lines Building) as the headquarters of a global surveillance operation run by John Cerruti. Following the global surveillance disclosures of Edward Snowden in 2013, 33 Thomas was described as the likely location of a NSA mass surveillance hub codenamed TITANPOINTE.
- One-Scene Wonder: Where to start. Much of the films' considerable All-Star Cast members appear for only one or two scenes, brilliantly playing eccentric or absurd characters with remarkable aplomb.
- Paranoia Fuel: Basically everyone Nick puts his trust in or listens to turns out to be lying or hiding something including his father.
